2019 - The 1000th points paying F1 race was fairly boring and dominated by Hamilton and Mercedes. The only incident happened during the start involving Sainz, Norris and Kvyat

So F1 is about to race in a country which not only hasn't condemned Russian invasion of Ukraine, but is technically Putin's ally. So only a small moral sidestep from actually having Russian GP. :slaphead:
Well, on the other hand, if Russia had been given 2024 Summer Olympics, Putin would have postponed the war at least by 2½ years. So maybe by giving China as many major sports events as possible will keep them away from Taiwan.

So yeah, not really having a positive feeling about the weekend. Secondly, I've never been fan of this prototypical tilkedrome; it just bores me. For Suzuka and Albert Park I was happy to wake up in the middle of the night to watch Free practice, but here no way I'm going to ruin my sleep for the sprint, even if that means missing a wet race.

They should just give Max 50 points, skip Shanghai and Miami, and go straight to Imola. Lovely Imola <3

Imola, a track where nothing happens in a race unless it rains.

I have said it before: It's the track and the atmosphere of old-school tracks I enjoy, not racing or overtaking. Like Monaco or Suzuka (or Goodwood), just seeing the cars doing laps in free practice is a pleasure. And since you don't expect to see racing and overtaking during free practice session, there's no reason to be disappointed. Just relax, have a cup of coffee, and enjoy.

Just compare these images: which has more (smog-free) atmosphere?

This can be said for 75% of the tracks.

Even more so with these huge cars

It should be dropped from the calendar and Hockenheim brought back

Imola is like the classic Hockenheim. The scenery and the feeling is a classic venue without tarmac outside track limits, is a must have on the calendar even though races aren't that good. Well races at Shanghai and Miami aren't that good either and they keep going there

Great region of Italy to visit, I was there last year.
Couldn't visit Bologna due to the floods though :(

I'm in the Val d'Orcia region for the week prior, and then being based out of Bologna for the F1 race, I'm praying there isn't the floods like last year

Went there last time I was in the region, so sadly not this time. I'm going to Monaco for the F1 if that makes up for it?

Sure am! Given I'm coming from the other side of the planet, I figure I might as well see a few races! Plus Monaco has always been on the bucket list

That's amazing! So happy for you. Thankfully there's some supports to watch. Not like my trip for the Formula E race lol.

If you like mountains maybe you should consider visiting Monza track and then Lake Como as I done?
