Absolutely, but we'll pretend we didn't notice him doing the same in Monaco, then Canada, tried to in Hungary but Hill was already alongside him and also Belgium.

I believe his start conduct was brought up following the fishtailing in Japan.

He was already doing that in 1994

Nah, he clearly just accidentally lost traction by accident. It was wet, wasn't it :whistling:

Must have forgotten to select the launch control that was hidden in the Benetton's onboard computer...

Ah, by this point they had opted to remove the lines of code that were only left in because they were non-functional

Ha, I had no idea he was up to this so early! I only really started following F1 properly from the race after this one :metal:

Then again, I have the '93 season review and I'm sure Senna's defence at Silverstone would have provided inspiration, if not permission.

In 2000, the controversy resurfaced, Imola being one of the worst examples, forcing off a Williams on the grass in the process:

The field got rightful revenge by Coulthard at Hockenheim that year though, when David blocked him then crossed back (legally), leading him to the left right in front of Fisichella:

No rhyme, no reason, one old Formula 1 pic* per post

* and Schumacher bitchfest :innocent:

I think we can keep it on topic if we include a picture with the discussion.

Quote:
The Grand Prix of Monaco in 1973 was not George Follmer’s cheeriest experience. It was his only time there, and he never even got to race. In the last practice session, Arturo Merzario in a Ferrari was released from the pit area just as Follmer motored by, spinning him into the guardrail, finishing off the car, as shown above. Back in an earlier practice session, he says, “I’m running as hard as I can when my rear wing breaks off and goes flying into the box seat of Prince Rainier and Princess Grace. Luckily, they were not there at the time, but when I pulled into the pits, the gendarmes and soldiers surrounded the car with guns drawn. They figured it was an assassination attempt. Breaking off a wing at 120 MPH and sailing it into a box seat while controlling an out-of-control race car seemed reasonable to their way of thinking. Go figure!” From FOLLMER: American Wheel Man, by Tom Madigan. (Follmer Collection)

REAL RACIN'. F1 so boring nowadays with their close gaps.

60's F1 was about staying on the track for long enough to survive, yet alone worrying about lap times and racing.

Sorry for late answer, didn't see the post up to now.
That decade had some good years on the early years. They had just switched to smaller body cars. They were more racy and probably cheaper. Less dependant on pure engine horsepower. So a lot more cars taking place and closer field overall. For instance, the 1961 french GP:

Staying on track was still important, but it is not all.

that Porsche on the podium was the last one of its kind

the sportscar turned into a winning F1 car

the 1.5L era was quite interesting in terms of random results, plus a V12 1.5L engine made by Honda, might sound like a superbike

Giovanna Amati at Kyalami in 1992:
Image

Quote:
Amati signed with the Brabham team in January 1992 to partner Eric van de Poele after the team was unable to sign Japanese F3000 driver Akihiko Nakaya because he was not granted a superlicence due to the FIA not recognising the Japanese F3000 series as a stepping stone in motor racing.

Also, I never knew this little bit of history about Amati:
Quote:
She had been kidnapped for ransom on 12 February 1978 by three gangsters in a group led by Jean Daniel Nieto, who had allegedly raped her and then romanced.[5]

Amati had been taken out of a car she was sitting in near her parents' villa and was taken away in a van. Her captors took her into a house located near to her parents' home but was moved when police came searching for Amati.[6] She was kept in a wooden cage for 75 days and was physically and mentally abused but Nieto comforted her.[6] Amati was released on an 800 million-lira ($933,000 in 1978) ransom on April 27 using box office receipts for the film Star Wars[7] and her mother sold some of her jewellery and managed to get into her life savings to pay the ransom.[6] Magistrates ordered that all of the assets belonging to the Amati family would be frozen to prevent payment.[8]

Nieto, a French citizen, was later arrested after a meeting with the former kidnapped. When he was released, newspapers published stories detailing the strong emotional relationship between Nieto and Amati.[9] He was sentenced to 18 years in prison. Nieto escaped prison in 1989 and remained a fugitive until he was arrested in April 2010.
