I think we need a thread specifically for overblown motorsport hyperbole. E.g:

Pre-2002 Hockenheim was the best track ever

Monaco is the worst track on the calendar

All chicanes are terrible

We need to bring back refueling

Sprint races will be the downfall of the sport

Any take that a champion isn't truly a great unless they could have won in a Minardi

Motorsport Random Discussion (boomers only)

Would you kindly direct us to this thread? I'm seeing new stuff on the forum but I want to be sure before I start trauma-dumping every boomer thought I have about motor racing

I can't remember ever seeing a thread like that, and it's about time we had one.

we can all agree as old grumpy men that cars looked better on track in yesteryear (up until 1998 of course)

I was driving past Reims last week and had to make a short detour to the former F1 circuit. Fantastic to see the old buildings still standing, although getting into the upper part of the grandstand required some climbing  The French police said we couldn't park alongside the buildings and made us move. Shame they didn't arrive two minutes later when some locals were doing burnouts along the pit lane. Technically not old F1 photos, but I thought this was the most relevant thread.

Love Ken Tyrrell and his flat cap.

1974 or 1975. Andretti is wearing a Parnelli jacket and there's a Yardley McLaren hat.

Max Mosely chilling at the back there

"I will be the boss of all of you soon" :D

Bernie's probably in there too, just way too small to be seen lol

is a nice game trying to guess whos's in there

I see Hunt, Andretti, Regazzoni, dunno who in front of Clay, Fittipaldi next to Lauda, Peterson begind him. The one with the wool jacket seems to be Montezemolo, with Tyrrell, Depailler and Scheckter behind him and Reutemann by his side

I must say there's more talented drivers in this pic than we could ever gather

Might be Bernie with his back turned in the red jacket.

Is Bernie not the guy directly above James Hunt? The glasses and expression look about right.

Where's Regazzoni? I can see everyone but him.

Helmuth Koinigg is up front to Andretti's left, his first and only race start before his fatal accident at Watkins Glen.

Any idea who the sunglasses is in front of Reutemann?

Regazzoni is to the left of Fittipaldi I believe, you can see the Ferrari logo on his jacket

Guy in the sunglasses I want to say is Mark Donohue, but I'm not 100% convinced
