Every team is inferior to Red Bull in that department. But no other driver is currently throwing hissy fits.

Well we know it's true, but it's not the sort of thing you want a driver to say.

Nevertheless, after three seasons it isn't surprising to hear.

More worrying for him will be the fact that the wind tunnel is still shit, so that will impact 2013.

Caught Buxton on the Third Eye section of Soccer AM, using his mic as a shaver. :p

Quote:
"At the moment we are not fighting against Sebastian only," Alonso said following qualifying. "We are also fighting against Newey let's say - [the team] has finished first or second in the last four races.

"It is not so easy to fight, especially on Saturday, but on Sunday we are normally more competitive.

"Tomorrow we need to overtake McLaren as soon as possible and put pressure on Red Bull to wait for a little mistake, a pit stop problem, reliability or something.

"If they [Red Bull] can start, go away and have an easy race, that's the worst news for us."

Don't see a problem with a single thing he said. Where did he throw Ferrari's technical department under the bus? He simply is aware of the situation, they need a lot of misfortune to happen to RBR to even think about getting the championship because performance wise they don't stand a chance and their isn't so much a battle right now as Vettel cruising to his third successive title.

Say what you want about Alonso but he has driven his ass off since getting to Ferrari. I posted this comparison on another forum post Korea I think, but him and Vettel have been comparable in performance since 2010 and clearly the two best in the sport.

The biggest difference has been the car. Alonso's driven the wheels off the Ferrari lately but they still can't get their house in order despite having one of the biggest budgets in the sport.

Quote:
Got to disagree. Alonso's only had 5 retirements since the beginning of 2010, 1 Mechanical, 2 being taken out, 2 his own fault. With every other finish bar one coming in the points [Silverstone 2010].

Alonso is as consistent as Vettel, he doesn't or hasn't had the luxury of driving a rocketship compared to the rest of the grid like Vettel had throughout 2011, and appears to have again now.

Since Beginning of 2010:-

Alonso

54 Races
49 Finishes
29 Podiums
09 Wins
Lowest Finish: 14th [Britain 2010]

Vettel

54 Races
48 Finishes
34 Podiums
20 Wins
Lowest Finish: 15th [Belgium 2010]

If Alonso is erratic. So is Vettel.

Drivers don't tend to acknowledge another team's superiority in public. I can't remember Kimi or JPM or any of the other frontrunners of the early 00s namedropping Rory Byrne.

Ferrari drivers really don't tend to acknowledge another team's superiority in public.

Of course Alonso is doing the best job he can, and that's probably why he's getting frustrated. He's doing all he can and the car won't give him the performance he needs.

There's also this from Phil's lot; http://www.f1zone.net/news/ferrari-all- ... nso/16371/

It's the mind games as well of course. It's Alonso convincing everyone that he's doing the best job possible and it's the car that's the problem.

Whitmarsh was doing an interview and Buxton was on the background brushing his mic around his face. He didn't know he was in shot though. :p

Yeah, fuck Red Bull for winning the development race and fuck Vettel for exploiting the car.

did DC just call Kimi 'unfit' on the BBC?

Also, I can see the Finn retiring at the end of this season. I had the feeling all along.

Just like Ferrari 'ruined' 2002 and 2004, then.

2008 and 2010 spoiled a lot of people.

Why did he called him unfit?

He still got a lot of grudge of the period when Kimi ruined his one and only chance to become Mclaren's first driver?

Retiring? He just came back and had a very succesfull year (the most consistent of all the drivers with not always a fast car)

Precisely. Believe it or not, but domination is in fact quite boring if you happen not to be a fan of the team/drivers doing the dominating.

There's a lot of high-horsing going on around here.
