I also give it 8, but one extra point comes because Kimi won.

I really hope that the ICE AGE is starting now! 8)

6. Largely boring and predictable. With this forum being so pro Kimi it is no surprise to see the votes so high.

Good one, and at least I was holding breath near at the end. 7 or 8... I'm bit biased so: an 8.
To be honest, not the most eventful Australian GP and remarkably clean race (no SCs or collisions whatsoever).
But it would be a pity if the best race of the season have already been seen. 9/10 and 10/10 ratings are still ahead.

6. Kept interesting by different strategies, but a real lack of wheel to wheel racing between the front runners. Kimi winning is good, but I'm not going to vote higher because of it.

I enjoyed that. It's probably a 7 but I gave it an 8 due to it being first race of the season which adds excitement.
I have a question, which DCF has answered already above me, do people give a higher score when they get the result they want?
I was discussing with NEA after Brazil last year. For me I enjoy, and so rate higher, a race where the story goes the way I want. So the driver I want gets the win, or someone unlikely comes through and pulls of the popular upset (Like Perez on the podium last year).
But NEA said to him it was all down to the quality of the racing and the winner didn't matter, in terms of scoring a race. Where do people fall on this?

I think an unlikely winner/underdog doing really well would add to the excitement of the race, definitely. In terms of a favourite driver doing well, I wouldn't take that into account. I don't think Kimi winning was a complete surprise. You'd expect Lotus to be one of the top teams. If Sutil had won however... :)

8, very enjoyable and it wasn't predicable at all (until the final stops settled).

I'll give it a 7 since I'm such a nice guy and there's no option for 6.5.

8. unpredictable, close racing between 5 teams at the front, surprise winner. More a 7.5 but I give it and 8 because it's the first race of the season and I enjoyed it a lot.

6, not bad but not good either. Solid race only I have my expectations higher for Melbourne.

6 points. Very tactical race with a quite clearly strongest man in race trim.

I'm happy Kimi won but the race kind of failed to come alive for me. Too much emphasis on pit stops and the overtaking we got seemed far too easy. (AND That was because of the tyres before the Anti DRS brigade (which is pretty much everyone bar me) gets on their high horse )

Had a good time chatting with everyone in the Pub but with about 10 laps to go we realised the race just wasn't grabbing us because we had the time to talk and tweet and such.

But, it was great to have F1 back and I guess it was a nice warm up for the rest of the season.

6/10

Interesting race. The new commentator on Dutch tv made it boring, not even noticing an overtake for the lead, saying things which aren't correct, dull voice, how on earth can they select such a person for this job!?

On topic, the race was good, had more potential.

6, we can (and will) get a lot better this season than this pit-stop cold war.
