Yeah, I agree that the 2 week interval was good. I really don't like the modern calenders with them having 3 races a month and then no race after that (just an example). With the 2 week intervall I knew when the next race will be and it was great to just have consistency.

I think the idea is that the teams get some time off as well ... it also means I don't miss any races during the Edinburgh Festival (trying to watch them sat behind Box Office is a nightmare) but this is perhaps a secondary consideration for the FIA schedule.

It's 5 weeks in August this year! And now we are already in the second 3 week gap between races this season. These back to back races put more stress on the teams anyway. Just have them every other week and in the summer a 3 week vacation. And they should also schedule the Monaco GP on another weekend than the Indy 500, sucks to have 2 of the most classic races on the same day. They each deserve their own weekend so they don't steal each others spotlight.

I think PDLR is from Barcelona region and Alonso from Asturias and we all know how spanishs are with their regions...... so, it's quite understandable that PDLR is more shouted than Alonso

I would come in here and bitch about the track and the boring races from the past but this is 2012 and who knows what we'll get this year?

Especially if we get anywhere near hot temperatures this weekend for the first time this year, that's going to jumble things up again imo.

And now tyre saving is a big deal, it makes me wonder if anyone will bother going out in Q3 at all....

Guys, is the tyre choices for the race already decided? I wonder if we will finally see the Super Soft tyres.

I recently had a look at the tires used so far and I was wondering the same. Where are the super soft. But to be honest, from what I've seen so far, I actually don't want to see them because I fear that they won't last long.

Actually I would like to see how the teams would deal if they had for the weekend, Super Soft and Soft tyres, would be fun to watch, the strategies would be very interesting... I remember two years ago, thanks to the huge tyre wear we had one of the greatest races ever in Montreal, so tyre wear is not allways bad, sometimes it can add very spicy touch for a race.

That will be Monaco, methinks ... do they run them in Canada as well because of the low grip? I'm not sure because of the high degradation aspect as well ... maybe it's the combination of both that makes Canada awesome ...

Actually, Canada 2010 was the ground Bernie had used for tires with more degradation, exactly the ones we watch now.
