It's gone a bit too far on the tyres front, but it's a better alternative to the dire races in 2002 for example. Pirelli is damned if they do, damned if they don't. Everyone criticised them at the end of 2011 when they were too conservative. It would be cool to have a tyre war again though, but then that would just sway the tyres in another direction. Get rid of the engine limits first. |

I believe these Pirelli tyres were designed exactly to be worn-out easier to provide better racing. I think it is a challenge, and it's up to drivers to deal with it. |

And you would be completely right in that belief. If the Baron, Britney, or any other driver who feels aggrieved by the current tyre situation wants to do something about it, then they should speak to their team principals. It is not Pirelli's fault that the tyres are they way they are. If the teams asked them to build rock-solid low performance tyres, they could very easily do that. I wonder if they've got any of their 1990 'qualifying specials' left over. Would be nice seeing a driver having to make those last over a stint. Really give them something to moan about. |

Still confuses me how Rosberg has escaped a punishment. Lewis was alongside his rear tyres before he shoved him off. The problem is despite laying this precedent this week I wouldn't past the stewards to throw the book at Lewis, Schuie or Alonso if they dare defend as hard and ridiculously over the top as Rosberg did this week later on in the season. |

About the tyres thing, I think the importance of saving them in order to get good results is much more a consequence of the how close the field is at the moment (something praised by Schumacher, btw) than a problem on their design. |

I was surprised by the crowd. Where did they come from? Were they rent by the king? I can't imagine many tourists are coming to Bahrain now, especially if a week ago nobody was sure the race would go on. |

It's just the FIA being inconsistent. However, this time it is actually really bad. Because that kind of blocking is actually dangerous. This will set a bad precedent. |

If it's to push totally from start to finish I think drivers are almost useless. And race is not only about push push push, it has to do with management as well and think that makes it exciting. Especially for a race of 1-2 hours. That's how drivers can make the differences themselves. |

It's called tyre management and is an essential skill for racing drivers. It's a marathon not a sprint. You want to see drivers at 100% you watch qualifying. One thing I haven't seen lately is a driver changing strategies and having to push the car to the limit to win like Schumacher in Hungary 1998 |

Tbh i am loving the tyres, it's a challenge for the teams in their car development and the drivers in their own skill outside of the racing itself. |

The broadcasters would go to a commercial, OneHD wouldn't (because it was 4-5am, who needs ads then?) and we'd here the commentators chatting to each other. That used to happen here too. UK laws don't allow us to have as many commercials as the US does, so when the US went to ads we'd go to the onboard channel (usually Dale Jr) for the ad break and the com mics were still on and they'd talk away during it. It was actually quite good. |
