So 2 out of 4 races at the later time have been stopped because of rain, couldn't the Europeans just get up 1 hour earlier to avoid this?

I think they gonna wait until the track is dry again... Even if it would be raining less, there would be no chance to race at rain anymore... No race like Brazil 2003 or Fuji 2008 anymore :p

So Vergne could drive with inters, yet they red flag the race for the rain?

They're robbing one of these drivers from the race of his life probabaly.

They would have red flagged Barcelona 1996 for example, one of Schumacher's legendary races.

there are even some drivers with inters that managed to stay on track until the SC. Surely it can't be 'that' bad... Canada 89 was far worse and more dangerous, and the outcome was an unexpected winner.

Now this will never happen again...

Let them sort out the men from the boys!

I'd agree if this would happen on a dangerous track, but hey, we got miles of run off area here!

it is raining and the track is wet, therefore racing is banned.

No, they red flagged it due to the electrical storm. Apparently race control was hit by a thunderbolt and electricity was gone for a moment.
