Technically he's right though. Let's be honest, within 107% or not, HRT are just not meant to be here. And neither of those drivers were that good during their best times, and are only there for funding. To suggest that the drivers or team deserve to be there is right kidding ourselves.

The accident is still Vettels fault. It still would have happened had it been any other car (or maybe Vettel would have judged it differently, but it doesn't matter, it was his mistake), but HRT really are just taking up space.

Meh, F1 needs slow backmakers so the leaders might trip over them.

I like people saying that F1 now doesn't do rain. Well, they have gone a bit wimpy recently but there's been some astonishing rain storms - Japan 2010, Korea 2010, Canada 2011, today. There was a period for several years where we didn't seem to get any storms: part of that is now we go to parts of the world where monsoons can happen. Let's not forget that we have had big suspensions even in the 90s - and Suzuka 1994 only happened because a marshal got his leg smashed into pieces. I doubt anyone wants that.

At no time during the race today was the track undriveable using even intermediate tyres, as proven by Vergne.

For some reason, both Charlie and Herbie and all the drivers they listen to now piss themselves in fear at the merest hint of a puddle.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

A bit tired of all these "fix" accusations. I saw in the flesh the disappointment in Sergio's eyes. He felt he could have taken the win.

If he'd been ordered to back off he'd have backed off. As it was, he nearly lost it at a very tricky corner when he was pushing on the edge.

And having nearly thrown it all away, did he slow down? Did he sit there and accept second? No. He carried on pushing and closing the gap.

So I say it again. You show me someone who says that race was a fix and I'll show you someone who has not a clue what they're talking about.

And folks, also bear in mind that the radio messages you hear are never live. At best half a lap old. If not more.

Indeed. It was drivable before, and it was drivable long before they went green. Whilst I understand the SC was for the sudden technical issues at race control, the red flag was uncalled for.

Just read there is a time penalty for Narian for being driven into by Vettel. wtf.

It is quite amazing that there were nine different teams in the top 10 this race.

I've seen BBC miss retirements too in race. I didn't watch the post race.

Karthikeyan apologised to both Button and Vettel even though Button accepted blame.

Christian Horner not being very sportsman like on the forum right now. Blaming Narain for the incident with Vettel.

I've only seen the incident once, and I blamed Vettel. But the FIA fined Narain for it. Is there another view I haven't seen?

Edit:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/17504555

The head on view here makes it look more like Narains fault. The behind view makes it look like Vettel. On the onboard, Vettel never moved left - he kept the wheel straight. He only moved the wheel to the left after the touch as a reaction to the tyre suddenly deflating.

Can't believe Alonso won and Perez managed 2nd. What a race. What a podium. Only way the podium could have been better for me personally was with Grosjean up there instead of Lewis. Still...take what I can get :p

Crazy race with much going on. Must be the best Top 10 in ages. Kimi, Senna came from nowhere, Di Resta in that dissapointing Force India getting points again and Vergne as well! Don't agree with the way the previous STR guys [particularly Jamie] were fired but the new pairing have talent [although also a much more competitive car].

Found this also:

Turns out @alo_oficial's car lost telemetry in race - so he had to read fuel levels to team, manage Kers etc. even more impressive

Still awesome result. Happy to see Perez's getitng the results he deserves, he missed out on a lot last year and was worried Australia was the start of another year of questionable strategies and poor luck. He'll be alongside Alonso come 2013. No way Massa can be paid $10m or so to be so useless.

My DVR stopped with 10 laps to go. It took me until like 30 minutes ago to find a torrent with the finish. I was so bummed to see Perez make that tiny mistake and cost him a shot at the win.. he was for sure faster than Alonso.

Still a great job by both Alonso and Perez.
