I'm getting around to writing up my experiences of Silverstone. Started with Thursday - wry Kimi humour, Seb switching and pushing the wrong Button with Jenson... So if you'd like to read it, it's here:
http://rhombi8.wordpress.com/2012/07/31 ... -thursday/

Thanks. :)

Great how you describe the behaviour of the drivers during interviews. Your writing style, or whatever you call it, is very good because I'm Dutch and I could read through it very smoothly. Hope to see more in the future!

I'll mention it properly in another day's write-up, but I recall seeing last year how journalists said Sebastian Vettel is really friendly, bouncy etc. Like the golden boy. But I didn't get that. To me, I could see the pressure building this season. He seemed in a fairly good mood, but not brilliant.

I mean, I only got at most 30 minutes of seeing body language. Sometimes I just saw someone walk past for 10 seconds, but it reveals a surprising amount. For example, Ricciardo was always smiling but Vergne was more, well, head down and trying to get to where he wanted to be.

Oh, and thanks :)

Oh, the best one was Webber on Sunday when someone asked him whether he'd pull over for Vettel  Leant back and just went 'Yeah mate' in deadpan as everyone else burst out laughing!

'Er *mind = don't like coffee, tea, it's too cold for orange juice*, yeah sure could I have a hot chocolate please?'

Lewis Hamilton says keeping trophy a major factor in McLaren contract talks

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/101671

The winning driver and constructor trophy are identical. Why does McLaren insist on keeping both?

I can understand why Lewis would want this in his home....

Before I always thought it was Toe-Cester. That's how all the 'cesters' round here are pronounced.

Saturday at Silverstone

Makes for a great read! Sounds like a fantastic experience, and I've got to admit I'm a little bit jealous :p Especially like the bit about Murray on his phone

Yeah, it was really amazing. It's also strange to think how the next day all the trucks and buildings would be gone. You can never imagine that it's temporary when you're there.

at 2.24, the far right trophy, quite big in size, which Grand Prix was that again ? Seems familiar. I like it.

Those were the days, when trophies were still trophies, and not just sponsor logos...

Visited the Ferrari Museum at Maranello today and my eye caught the beautiful 1998 (not sure but has to be either 1995 or 1998) Canadian Grand Prix trophy, presented by Players' LTD. Tough there smokes are awful I found the trophy very nice. There is a whole wall of Constructor Winning trophies. Currently at Bologna but the internet connection is to slow to upload any photos right now.

Edit:

And take a read on this old article from AtlasF1 from Adam Cooper, it's about the McLaren trophies.

It looks very familiar to me also. I'll have to do some research.

Speaking of trophies. Santander has awarded the same trophy 17x since 2007.

Luckily at Silverstone, the winner still gets this beauty, even if 2nd and 3rd get Santander logos

But in Germany :yuk:

If I'm not mistaken. Winning driver receives a Santander trophy and their name is inscribed on the gold cup trophy. Which I assume belongs to the British Racing Drivers' Club.
