WTF is that all about ? That'd mean Ferrari in effect would have to apologise to have fired Kimi instead of Massa
and he'd be the slave of Alonso, so no please. Although it'd be quite cool I must admit.

Raikkonen on Ferrari's radar for 2013, despite also nearing extension to Lotus deal
By Jonathan Noble Sunday, July 29th 2012, 07:46 GMT

Kimi Raikkonen has emerged as a surprise contender to line-up alongside Fernando Alonso at Ferrari next year, even though the Finn is closing in on a deal to remain at Lotus.

Ferrari is considering its driver options for 2013, with the team well aware it needs a team-mate to Alonso who can help contribute significantly to its constructors' championship ambitions.

Felipe Massa has not yet delivered strong enough form this year to guarantee his seat, which has left Ferrari evaluating whether to hope his current upswing in form will continue into 2013 or whether it needs to look at other options.

A number of young drivers are on Ferrari's radar - with Nico Hulkenberg, Paul di Resta, Sergio Perez and Romain Grosjean all on the short-list of candidates for the drive.

However, Ferrari sources insist that the team has not seen enough from any of those drivers to be sure that they will be a definite step forward over Massa – which has resulted in Raikkonen emerging as a dark horse contender.

Although Raikkonen was dropped by Ferrari at the end of 2009, Ferrari sources suggest that senior figures inside the team believe he would be the perfect fit for next year – because of his speed, availability and likelihood that he would not cause any political problems.

However, the biggest stumbling block at any deal happening is believed to be the strained relationship between Raikkonen and Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo, who parted their previous working partnership on far from good terms.

Insiders suggest that di Montezemolo is not convinced about the Raikkonen route – while the driver himself has said in private that he too would be reluctant to work with his former boss again.

Ferrari will have to make a final call on Raikkonen soon if it is to have any hope of doing a deal, because he is getting close to confirming another season with Lotus.

AUTOSPORT understands that Raikkonen has already held technical meetings about the 2013 car at the Lotus factory, and there is every indication from him and the team that they intend to carry on together for at least one more year.

Raikkonen's team-mate Grosjean is out of contract at the end of this year too, but his current strong form for Lotus makes it a no brainer for it to keep the Frenchman for another season.

Will they do this by IP address or username of some sort?

Not sure if I'll be over the 50-story limit, but this kinda sucks anyway.

Or just visit other websites...

Personally I agree with it. It's not asking for much after all; any 'free' stories are just press releases. Their proper content has always been pay-per-view anyway, and it's worth it a lot of the time.

I used to have an Autosport subscription but cancelled when I moved to USA. I'm going to try using my old logins on 1st August and see what happens. Anyway, 50 articles is a lot.

About the silly Kimi to Ferrari rumor.....how about the thought that if Alonso wins the title this year he actually keeps his word and quits after 3 titles?
If that happens, they do need a new first driver. And then Kimi would be about the only viable option together with Hamilton. But who of them is willing to wait until the end to sign a deal?
I think Hamilton will stick with McLaren as, at this point, there aren't any real alternatives available. Kimi can wait it out, Lotus will probably wait long enough to replace him as, again, there aren't any real alternatives available

Too crazy of a thought or might I be on to something here?

the rumour of Kimi to Ferrari is just silly, the rumour of Alonso quitting when he wins his third title exceeds that step. Status-quo will remain.

Glock getting angry with Pic
http://www.f1zone.net/news/teammate-feu ... sia/15158/

Timo needs to improve his pace. Charles has been better this season and Max Chilton's father is increasing his involvement with Marussia. It's only a matter of time before Max joins the team in all honesty, even though he has the race craft of a potato.

Timo has a contract until end of 2014 and Marussia need someone who can help develop the car. So unless Daddy Chilton stumps up a huge amount of cash to buy Timo out of his contract, I cannot see Max getting a seat unless it is in place of Charles, who doesn't deserve to be out of a drive.

Sometimes I think the development factor of a driver is over-rated with modern technology. I'm not sure of the ins and outs of Timo's contract either, it might be a 2+1 contract.

Charles Pic brings an enormous amount of money to the team and he has Olivier Panis as his manager/mentor, so there's a lot of influence there. If anyone goes, it'll be Glock. Which would be a shame considering how he's taken so much shit since the start of 2010. The fact is that I can't see Marussia making any gains until 2014, so he might be better off trying to get another seat. Question is where?

The Hamilton\Di Resta split was acrimonious and is now turning bitter.

Supposedly Mr Hamilton isn't very popular with teams, with Mercedes referring to him as "stuck up". If Paul ever wants to move up (and Mercedes should be next on his list with his contracts), he'd be better off without him.
