Yeah but we don't have oil money or a killer economy to afford Bernie's stupid fees.

You may don't have oil but, damn, you have copper...and a lot! Actually Chile's economy is one of the strongest in the continent and as I heard they would be investing a lot in tourism in the next years, it makes sense to attempt a F1 race. In my sincere opinion, it's a great place to go, Chile is like South-America's California, If they manage to work more this image, the tourism and the GP can be a great success.

In other news, I just read an article in my local newspaper that the city of Dronten, The Netherlands, is planning on constructing the 'biggest and most green sportingaccomodation of Europe'. One of the things they will build here will be a 7,5 kilometres long Grand Prix circuit. The project should be ready in 2017. So maybe F1 back to Holland :)!

Yes.

It's also way too narrow and short for F1's standards.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Coincidentally my next feature article is on the current problem of F1 circuits. I'll work in all the wannabe F1 tracks as well.

Zandvoort may be narrow, but so is Monaco. Doesn't stop them there :p

Monaco is a long standing tradition and the local NIMBY's go home instead, Zandvoort has been held on and off and the local NIMBY's are at home :p

Keep F1 away from Zandvoort, because the FIA would butcher it.

I like your writing style, you explain all relevant points without going into too much detail (which would exhaust the reader). Keep it up!

Thanks. You have to tailor writing style; if I write for a specialised F1 website, I assume knowledge - you know the tracks/drivers/what happened. Writing for a Uni website you need to explain first - something that would bore the hell out of proper F1 fans

Very good article, fun read. Everything in it is too true though, I wonder what the calendar will look like in ten years time...

Agreed. Zandvoort has a very natural flow to it for being built back in the late 90s-early 2000s

Tilke already designed the grandstand at zandvoort, but that was before F1 asked him to create a few bad racing tracks
