Woo Monza.

Watched last year's race edit - still the best one FOM has ever done - and it made me sort of miss good old fashion fights: Button vs Alonso was tense and evidence of different set-ups requiring defensive driving. Now you just whack DRS on and steam past.

Still, should be a good'un, love the setting of Monza, really wanted to go but sorta missed the deadline

I know it doesn't always produce very good races, and they're always bloody short, but I just love the feel of Monza. Narrow track, trees, history, gravel, and speeeeeeeed.

Also really wanted to go but just got lazy. 2012 maybe!

This race should have at least 10 more laps.

As long as they keep gravel at the Lesbos, Ascari & Parabolica. If not then the track is ruined

I'm beginning to think that the distance limits for F1 races should become part of a reasonable range, depending on the circuit, rather than a set figure.

Well it seems a bit silly to have 53 laps of Monza that takes 75 minutes then 61 laps of Singapore that takes almost 2 hours, especially when Monaco is only 260km not the standard 305km. They should make Monza longer

that could be a problem regarding the fuel load then, I don't think there is enough room to add fuel for 10 laps, especially knowing that Monza is already quite big on fuel consumtion (I assume).

but i agree though, they should more aim towards a certain time instead of number of kilometres. I'd say races should be at least 1h30.

I'd think a track with constant braking/acceleration should be bigger on fuel consumption than a track like Monza. Still, I think any change to the 300-something km rule should come together with a return to refuelling.

One of the things I don't like about F1 is the fact there isn't an event that can be labeled as the greatest race of the season, with it's own set of sporting rules and with extended entries, etc. Like the Indy 500, Daytona 500 or LM24.

Zone 1: Pit straight
Zone 2: Lesmo 2 > Ascari

Monaco has its own rules, with shorter distance and no safety :p

indeed, they can add the distance to this race that they cut from the Monaco race (around 45 kilometers). Only problem is their fuel tanks as mentioned above. The engines can take it now unlike in the past.

It's still 11 days from now. Even the most optimistic man can only guess.
