Weather will play a role in the lead-up to the event, with showers forecast on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday evening may turn severe as a band of heavy rain and potential thunderstorms crosses Quebec in temperatures up to 29 Celsius, but a 1025mb area of high pressure will roll in from the north-west heading into Friday, heralding a significant trend change for the weekend.

Conditions will become drier on Friday and the last of the showers should have cleared to the east by the time practice one begins. There will still be a reasonable amount of cloud cover, but it will become brighter throughout the day with increasing sunshine during the afternoon session as the high makes good progress into Quebec. Temperatures will be cooler than in midweek, reaching 23 degrees.

The improving trend will continue into Saturday and we are set for another race weekend dominated by strong sunshine and largely clear skies. It will be fine and dry for final practice and qualifying with hardly a cloud in the sky. Ambient temperature should rise to a maximum of 24 Celsius, but track temperature will increase by some margin over the Friday value, due to the absence of cloud cover.

Race day is looking very good and a repeat of Saturday's conditions is expected - wall-to-wall sunshine and air temperature again reaching 24 degrees Celsius.
