I know it's going off on a tangent slightly, but if if you VJ, would you sign Fisi up for 2010? Sutil might have the occasional great days, but is it just me, but doesn't Fisi appear to be better more often.

As a Fisi fan it has been a long time since we had something to be happy about.

Amazing race from Fisi. This was a top 10 finish on merit. Sure he finished 9th at Monaco, but that was a deal where he benefited from both BMW and Toyota being horrible all weekend, retirements from Vettel, Buemi, Piquet, and Kovalainen.

Yesterday he started 16th, benefited from no retirements ahead of him at all, no tricky strategy, no safety cars, no rain. His start was just amazing. He flew around the outside of Piquet at Stowe on the first lap, then was side by side with Kubica to complete the first lap, then of course the double overtake of Nick and Alonso on the second lap at Stowe. He was right there within four seconds of Glock until the first stop, where he jumped Glock on the pit rotation. Unfortunately Glock got him back on the second stop but they both jumped Nakajima.

7. Trulli + 1:08.307
8. Raikkonen + 1:09.622
9. Glock + 1:09.823
10. Fisichella + 1:11.522

Force India two seconds from the points and four seconds from 7th after 60 laps! 71 seconds off the lead looks bad but it shows how dominate Red Bull really was. "I was quicker than Kimi and Timo."

I couldn't tell you the last time Fisi finished on the lead lap without a safety car to bunch the field. He didn't suffer from the graining on the soft tires that always plagues him. The car had great pace and if Button hadn't came alive on that final stint, he could have been right in that same pack behind Trulli.

Sutil is a great talent but I feel like Fisi has done better than him this year. Sutil is magical in the wet but always seems to shunt the car and DNF. However, when looking to 2010, Sutil does has youth on his side.

I think we can look for Force India making it into Q2 quite often now. :) :) :)

The answer to your question about Fisi finishing on the lead lap without a safety car is, eh, Monaco 2009. :p

Some attempted overtaking and the Bourdais/Kovalainen drama made it more exciting. 4/10.

Vettel. We all know how good he is in the wet but he was yet to win a race in the dry and his drive proved beyond any doubts his star qualities.

Anyone know what the outright track record is because Vettel's 1m18.1 in Q2 broke the pole record from 2004?

That's fast, but wasn't 2004 with a one lap qualiying system? So that means Schumi had a lot more fuel on board?

I think lap record times are taken only during the race.

Can anyone PM me a youtubelink of that? Haven't seen F1 for over 2 months now and i'd like to see that.

I know, in Abu Dhabi you see posters with "November 1st, where will you be?" but other then that you get no F1 coverage on TV.... we work on sunday anway so it doesn't matter... cause in the Arab world sunday is the first day of the working week and Friday and Sutarday is weekend. Friday is like our sunday.

I meant the fastest ever lap at Silverstone in testing or race.

I checked the tests 2005. There were three tests:
April (3d): 1:20,121, Webber - Williams FW27
June (3d): 1:16,953, Kimi - McLaren MP4-20
Sep. (3d): 1:17,109, Wurz - McLaren MP4-20

maybe a Saturday race then? They were saying [Abu Dhabi organisers] that they'd have a 'unique start time'

I was thinking that "unique start time" is only something else than x.00 or x.30.

Do you have a link for that or was it in a magazine?

he's really strong yes :) . Made his teammate look like some sort of second class driver (certainly considering he drove away at a second per lap on a heavier fuel load).

I saw Vettel take his first victory with my own eyes at Monza last year. I wonder if the same will happen next weekend when I visit the Nurburgringring.

Let's remember that Webber was a second a lap slower thanks to being stuck behind Rubens.
