IMO Gené for being spanish at Valencia, Badoer at Italy for being italian and the remaining Grand Prix between these two guys or Massa if He is OK. I would like to see Alonso there, but this season it's just dreaming because of all his contracts with Renault and the sponsors.

Stranger things have happened, but I don't see Alonso driving a Ferrari this season. I think it will be Gené, having more recent F1 race experience and being a bit younger than Badoer.

I would be so thrilled to see Schumacher race again but theres almost a 0% chance of that happening.

It will probably be Gene.

I don't see Massa returning this season, and after the most recent updates he can be lucky if he can return at all...

Mind says it's gonna be Gene

My heart says Badoer, my head says Gene.

Neither will do greatly, struggle to get out of Q1 probably.

But I'd like to see them each do their home race or 2 races each for example then Ferrari can decide from then. You can only have 4 drivers per season right?

Luca Badoer - 47%
Marc Gene - 50%
Fernando Alonso - 0.6 :p
Mirko Bortolotti - 2%
Sebastien Bourdais -
Davide Rignon - Not an option
Michael Schumacher - Almost certain "No."
Other - 1%

I see nothing distasteful about it. Personally, I hope Luca Badoer takes the seat.

As Renault is suspended, why not Alonso moving to Scuderia? I mean srsly, why not.

I've been thinking of Alexander Wurz but AFAIK he has some sort of contract with Brawn GP as their reserve driver.
Gazzetta dello Sport writes today that even Nico Hülkenberg is a candidate, but I guess that's just speculation.

I don't know in how far the F1 calendar collides with the MotoGP calendar, but what about Valentino Rossi? The Tifosi would be going mad if he raced for Ferrari in Monza and he has proven that he is capable of driving good times with F1 cars.

Mirko Bortolotti (Italian F3, set Fiorana F2008 Lap Record, Formula 2)

Badoer: possible

Marc Gene: possible

Fernando Alonso: maybe they would be too scared for a new spy-story if he does a one-off at Ferrari

Bortolotti: impressed when he tested at Fiarana but he isn't ready to race I think, but they should defenitly make him test-driver

Bourdais: he has the same manager as Massa, and he is the only free driver with tons of experience in the new cars

Rigon: my dream scenario, he impresses in both GP2 where he can driver top 8 with trident, that's the same like Albers would have driven his Minardi in top 8 in 2005, also in SLF wich has cars that are even more powerfull than GP2 he impresses, but for some reason F1 doesn't seem to be interested in him, too bad, he would be the perfect replacement

Michael Schumacher: not gonna happen, I think he will go to Brawn afther this season to help Ross because he has troubles at Ferrari, so defenitly not an option

Other: Renault offering a deal to hand out Piquet to Ferrari so they can put Grosjean in a Renault?

I suspect it will be Gene. Ferrari are out of the title hunt, otherwise they would have considered somebody more high-profiled. When Schu was out in 1999 they didn't even think of bringing back Badoer from Minardi (who is their tester since 1998 not 2000, btw) and picked Mika Salo instead.

Davide Rigon or Marc Gene.

I wouldn't mind seeing Takuma Sato in the car though. He's avaliable isn't he?

Badoer did a full season with Minardi in 1999.

what about Edoardo Piscopo
he has tested together with Bortolotti (and Salvatore) the F2008 last winter
and he has driven in the A1GP (powered by FERRARI)

but then again, Bortolotti has 25 points in the F2 championship and Piscopo only 13

so lets keep it with Rigon :p

Bourdais' connection to Nicolas Todt probably means less than some people think it does considering the relationship that exists between the Todts and Ferrari.

There are better alternatives in that list, anyway. Bourdais' attitude would disrupt a lot of the harmony that exists within Ferrari. Gene and Badoer might be old, but they know the car, they know the team, and in the case of Gene they are still racing at a fairly high level.
