While some of you are going on about the lack of overtaking at Hungaroring.

Check out this old track proposal from 1986:

Which one is better?

Made this with paint.

the track was great after its second change. deleting that chicane (turn 13 - 14) destroyed the whole track tbh

Don't know if it's already been posted, but here's a 3D footage about Massa's crash!

Holy shit :8:

If that´s realistic he was luckier than I thought...

I Agree with you completely.

Old turn 1 was amazing sweeping long downhill corner before it was Tilkified for improving overtaking. Only problem in that modification is too short main straight. It didn´t work and ruined the perfectly flowing Turn 1.

And deleting the old chicane was even more epic fail. Before changes the braking for second last corner provided overtaking because that chicane proved to be difficult to drive -> more errors, more overtaking.

I admit I liked the version used from 1987-2002. Due to that chicane indeed, and the first turn had something nice (I liked the way you could use part of the service road, like Mika did in 2000 at the start).

What? That chicane was utterly pointless and did nothing. Getting rid of it 'Destroyed the whole track'? There are so many things wrong with that statement.

It's weird, Hungaroring used to feel atmosphereless and sterile, but now when all these even colder Tilkedromes are on the calendar, Hungaroring feels like a nice different challenge. More like a drivers circuit now, rather than stale and boring.

I read in a book that they were hoping for 119mph average laps and they only just got 100mph.

It also gets a crowd mainly of Finns but the crowds are always big compared to Shanghai or Turkey.

The track that doesn't technically exist any more?
Roads are mostly still there, but there is no room at all for grandstands, run-offs or parking.

Yep that's what I was about to say. This track looks great to do some time trials but not for F1 races ...

It´s available for GPL at least.
