Good news indeed.

But its still early stages, and only speculation until a full range of internal and vision tests are done. Fingers crossed until then.

He wasn't 6 tenths slower than Buemi, I checked live timing at the end of the race and he was doing low 1.23s which is bloody good. I was impressed.

But then he only beat Buemi because apparently Buemi had a damaged front wing, and himself admitted he drove like a moron the whole race (doing lots of mistakes). Check the Toro Rosso quotes after the race on autosport.com.

Ok I checked back on the stats of the race, and his fastest lap was a 1.23.4, fastest by Buemi was a 1.22.9 (actually quicker than Heikki and Rubens btw!!!), so maybe I didn't pay enough attention.

i am likely one of the few who think renault's ban is deserved.

quoting this article http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8169649.stm
"They also determined that "being aware of this, Renault failed to take any action to prevent the car from leaving the pit lane... and failed to inform the driver of this problem or to advise him to take appropriate action given the circumstances, even though the driver contacted the team by radio believing he had a puncture."

with the two debris related incidents that preceeded renault's decision to let alonso leave the pit lane without so much as telling him there was a problem is seriously negligent on their part. if that wheel had struck a steward or even a driver there would be a public outcry and the team bosses would likely be charged in court for negligent homicide or manslaughter.

ok, but releasing Marc Webber too early and almost causing a collision in a crowded pitlane is far more worse in my opinion and a lot more dangerous.

The whole thing happened so fast that preventing the car leaving pits was impossible. All mechanics showed the wheels were secured, and lollipop-man gave a go. Only one mechanic failed to secure wheel and another next to him gave false hand sign.

Human error, that happens.

And maybe the race engineer didn´t even know this problem so radioing was out of question in that case. There´s possibility that only one mechanic knew it before it was too late.

Especially considering the Williams crew were out in pitlane and would have been hit had Webber turned Kimi around.

Especially with Rosberg coming in next lap, could have wrecked his race, when he would have been looking at 2nd :(

The next poll should be "If the incident referred to in the previous poll had happened to McLaren, would your answer have been different?"

I don't think those shoes would fit in the cockpit. :p Besides, Kimi's nose is already red enough, what with all the vodka he consumes. Another red nosed driver is simply too much for this sport to handle! :p :D :D   ;)

Kimi made a decision of skip drinking during this season.

And lot of his acts are medias coloured talks. His biggest difference compared to other drivers drinking time by time is that Kimi doesn´t hide in the closet. He does it public.

i agree with your point but i think the ban is harsh and will ultimately do more harm to the sport than renault. A hefty fine should have been imposed. same goes to red bull. ultimately Alonso and Piquets replacement had no say in this yet they're going to be suffering as much as renault.

I was at a live race Sunday night so I missed the race and just saw it tonight on tape.

The whole weekend in Hungary = Insanity.

Thank God Felipe is doing all right. All this other bullshit pales in comparison anyways. Banning Renault for losing a wheel... My God. Total nonsense. The buffoons at the FIA have made a right mess out of this.

McLaren should have got a ban for the spy saga and they got a fine whereas Renault should only get a fine but instead they get the ban.
