How?

Maybe it's an odd number of races.

I'm confused.

Dude. Think about it for 2 seconds. You don't need a maths degree to understand what's wrong here.

I'm utterly amazed you're still struggling here. Even a mentally challenged three year-old would've worked out where they'd gone wrong by now.

I would keep the points, with a slight change between 1st and 2nd, but i would also use the medals not as a way of seeing who's better, but more of a symbolic thing, like in A1GP.

They get shitass big trophies, isn't that enough? ;)

Other series don't have medals. So why should F1 have medals? Just to show again that Max and Bernie are there? There are already enough examples.

Medal system is good coz it would actually show the best driver of the season, but gives no incentive for anyone below 3rd place to do anything. But seeing the constructors get points still the shit drivers would just be sneaking point for them insted of themselves, so what ever the decision is doesnt bother me.

so you are saying that someone who accidently wins 1 race but all other races finishes 10th is a better driver then someone who finishes all races in 4th?

The medal system gets worse as we go down more and more places.

Yeah im sure that will really decide a championship outcome oneday. Who ever can win the most races in a year should be the hailed the best driver for that year. Dont really know any driver who races to finish other then 1st.

The person who has the most points at the end of the year should be champion.

By increasing the difference in points between first and second they will more-than-likely have the person who wins the most races being the champion anyway.

Having said that, haven't all the champions since 2003 been the driver with the most race wins in each season anyway?

Schumacher obviously did in 2004, Alonso and Raikkonen were tied on 7 each in 2005 (Alonso had more seconds), Alonso and Schumacher were tied on 7 in 2006 (again, Alonso had more seconds), Raikkonen had 2 more than anyone else in 2007 but Massa beat Hamilton 6-5 last year.
