We know that many former F1 drivers continue connected to racing after retiring. Brundle, Hill, Lauda and so on are TV commentators, but other drivers may follow other careers.

Came up with this because Ukyo Katayama now owns a cycling team that's currently in the Tour of Portugal and wants to participate in a grand Tour.

I know Jody Scheckter owned a farm and sold organic products, but what are other former F1 drivers doing now, besides racing?

Nah, there wasn't enough evidence that it was Lehto who drove the boat at the time of the crash in which his friend was killed. In his own words he was passed out on the floor of the boat.

Have any ex-F1 drivers gone bankrupt or ended up in squalor I wonder?

Thanks JJ, that I wasn't aware of. The only reports I'd seen suggested he faced jail time and then all went quiet. I assumed he'd been put away. It doesn't surprise me that he's keeping a low profile.

Michael Schumacher lost some millions in one of the estate projects in Abu Dhabi that went wrong (and some say that was the reason why he returned to race)

the first brazilian to race in F1, Chico Landi, was the head of Interlagos during the 80's until his death and was responsible for return of F1 there alongside with Shell and Ayrton Senna

Alex Zanardi is also a talented cook (he's from Bologna, so that's natural :p ), but after he decided to be a paralympic athlete he went to be the racer that I admire the most. His olympic medals are for me the greatest achievement a man could receive

He made like 60 millions a year in the new millennium (with Ferrari). That must have been some losses if true.
