Yep.

Fuck sake this is confusing. Whats worse is that the Lotus GP2 team belongs to Group Lotus but has Team Lotus livery

WHAT BREACH???

This ruling is as clear as mud. So GL took TL to court over the use of the TL name. TL claimed they owned the name and GL were in breach of the long term licensing agreement TL entered into under LR in 2010. GL didn't want anyone else in F1 to use L name, so in effect TL would need to change their entered team name. TL bought TL from Hunt in late 2010 as a replacement of LR after Bahar severed the licensing agreement. So GL now have been successful in proving that they are the only people who can use L yet TL have been successful in proving that they are indeed allowed to race under TL banner, which would actually GL have failed in their attempts to deny TL the use of the TL name. But in fact GL have been awarded damages for severing the licensing agreement with TL, for a breach which no-one knows anything about.

Have I got that right?

I wouldn't worry, it will all be irrelevant when Group Lotus goes bankrupt in three years' time and Tony wins by default.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

It's reasons like this that I'm finding F1 increasingly unbearable to follow. Maybe it's just me but it seems that levels of smugness and self-interest have gone through the roof recently. Fernandes' reaction was just vomit-inducing. People seem to forget that he's just the fatter Asian version of Branson, but I suppose that's the value of a good PR team

I don't buy into this FOTA stuff at all. As far as I can see, the fans are at least as unimportant to the teams as they have been for the last 5-10 years. We're just being used to justify things for their sake. Nobody is truly doing this sport for the fans or for the love of it any more. Otherwise you wouldn't have ridiculous squabbles like this

If F1 wanted to be more welcoming to fans, they wouldn't have ridiculously high prices, such a level of exclusivity that means ordinary fans get a short period of time on Thursday and they'd allow videos on youtube. /Rant

It's going to get bitchy between Team Lotus and Group Lotus.

Fernandes should call his team 'Loltus' or 'Lutos'

ESPN wrote:
Lewis Hamilton has accused Toro Rosso's drivers of blocking him to assist Sebastian Vettel of their sister team Red Bull.

Speaking after the first day's practice at Monaco, Hamilton claimed he was baulked during the Spanish Grand Prix, costing him time and meaning he was unable to get in a position to overtake Vettel, who eventually beat him by less than a second.

"That kind of thing shouldn't happen because they are not supposed to be a sister team, are they?" Hamilton said. "Definitely in the last race there was some of that … all of a sudden moving in my way, which caused a bigger gap, the gap that I closed to Sebastian and I then lost. They let him past and held me up for the next couple of corners.

"If that continues to happen, some penalties should probably be handed out. I won't complain but I have mentioned it to my team so it is for them to approach the FIA to make sure the stewards are aware of it."

Christian Horner, who a day earlier had suggested Ferrari was copying his pit-stop tactics, denied Hamilton's accusations. "Toro Rosso drivers have often had that complaint from our own drivers as well," he said. "There's no discussion between the teams. The teams operate independently. There are no tactics to help one or the other team."

A spokesman for Toro Rosso said: ""When it became the rule, prior to last season, that you weren't allowed to share any technical knowledge, all co-operation ceased. So the suggestion we would have held up any other car to favour a Red Bull is preposterous, and would never have happened."

Lewis "isn't complaining", but wants the team to go the FIA?

I also don't remember this happening *at all*. I remember seeing them catching the STRs, but I also remember them moving out of the way. The only car that was an issue was an HRT, amazingly.

What about the other 14 laps that you were tucked up behind him for?

Keep the tears coming, they sustain me.
