Can't blame them really, someone taking off will generally grab your attention when it should be focused elsewhere.

I always felt Rubens was to blame more than Ralf, he moved line a few times before T1.

Oh, that's good. I was hoping that wasn't the race livery.

That was only 2 cars.

The bulk of the shenanigans was caused by Massa grasstracking and failing to understand the concept of reduced grip whilst at it.

He'll likely be further up tthe grid this year, so more cars to involve.

The Sauber on the grass was actually Heidfeld, who slid into a Jordan which collided then with Massa, who was on the outside of T1.

Exactly.

Massa can never seem to get turn 1 right in Melbourne. Completely cocked it up in 2002, 2006 and 2008. And not to mention getting caught out during quali in 2005, crashing in quali 2006 and starting from the end of the earth in 2007. I'll put money on him not finishing the race.

Was it? My bad.

On a more general point, Melbourne tends to have a higher level of retirements than most tracks, so if the BGP cars can stay out of trouble, they're in with a good shout of a result.

So because his teammate hits him out of the race, Massa cocked up?

2008 was horrible though, but can't remember 2006, and qualifying doesn't really say much about finishing the race does it? He'll be fine this year.

im not suprised that you can't remember 2006 because massa's race only was 1 corner long

Fine, whatever. Simply wanted to point out Massa didn't do anything wrong in Melbourne 2002, as more then one thought it was him causing the mayhem.

2006 was just one of those 3 car incidents where they guys either side didn't realise the other was there wasn't it? Massa's been sounding a bit calmer in his interviews in the off season, hopefully he'll be a bit calmer this year.

It looks like on the test photo's today that the Brawn GP car use a triangle diffuser.

Imitate Massa? It was his first F1 race.

The livery would be epic though. Black and brown-gold 8)

If they made it anything like Ragan's Cup car that would be fantastic.

Another good day - 111 laps, decent times... looking not too bad :). I reckon they'll be happily battling away in the midfield come Melbourne.

Midfield?

That's rather an underestimation.

Aye, but remember that Brawn are more-than-likely (cough) running their cars in Melbourne spec, whilst the others might still be working on things. Plus, they're a bit behind the eight ball with construction and such, hence they may need to make a few performance sacrifices to bring the cars home safely.

It's a solid package- you mentioned that Rubens has done 111 laps today, Jenson did something like 80 yesterday, and I haven't read about any issues. It doesn't look like it'll need much work done to it.

I mean, it isn't as if the car was thrown together in the space of 2 weeks like the Lola was.

They had a gearbox issue last night, and Rubens ground to a halt this morning.

But hey, I'm hoping you are proved right and that I am just being over-cautious.
