I'm currently updating the F1 2009 Discussion intro post and I have two questions...

Which number will carry Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa?
and
Sebastian Buemi and Sebastien Bourdais?

Kimi has the No.4, Massa has the No.3 for sure. :)

I think it would be better if the Melbourne thread will be created on Sunday (a week's time from the GP)

Anyone agree?

Yes otherwise we will have 10-20 pages of nonsense before the weekend is done :p

I know they were cheated out of a win at Spa.

not that bad i think...

If you think is good for a Mclaren to be half sencond behind the decadent Williams, so.....

Williams is probably behind these cars: BGP, BMW, Ferrari, Toyota. And might be similar to Renault, so Mclaren is ahead of FIs and Mateschitz's atm imo.

that is too bad for McLaren imo. I guess they will fight for the 5-8th places. But it could be right, that Ferrari-BMW-Brawn GP and Renault will fight for wins.

Alright, for who still had doubt:
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/73805

Honestly, some of you guys are so reluctant to recognize that Mclaren failed in developing the 2009 that to me it appeared as Hamilton's fanboys who can't accept that their idol will probably be a discreet figure in this year.

Now, it would be nice if aeroegi allowed people to edit their predictions cause a lot of them betted high in Hamilton/Mclaren.

About autosport's analysis, I also think that not only BGP is ahead of Ferrari. Last year BMW was sandbagging in winter tests and in Australia showed their speed. This year I bet they are doing the same and still they made fast laps, so my prediction is BMW ahead of Ferrari. Toyota is another matter, they don't provide confidence. Also the diferences in the front cars time laps will be closer imo.

You can edit your post at any time before the first practice session. It would be nice though if you would remind me of that.

What about people like you who go around with a smug attitude because Mclaren aren't doing so well?

I confess that I'm pleased with Mclaren's problems, not because I dislike the team, but because I want to see changes in the front, so I also want Ferrari to have problems. I want to see a BGP, a BMW or a Toyota winning for a change. ;)

Seems like Mclaren might be in for a season similar to 2004, rubbish at the start but stronger from mid season onwards

Or they could be shit all year. 8)

The Autosport analysis is good, i expect brawn gp, ferrari and bmw to be the fastest, but i am feeling toyota, redbull, williams and renault will also be very fast, and could suprise every known and again. I think Mclaren are about 1 second off brawn gp's pace, and it looks to be they will struggle to finish in the points, until atleast the first few races. They most likely will get faster and faster and might be able to get podiums by the end of the year. But it will be a hard year for them. I just can't wait for Melbourne to finally see what everyone has. I can see 7 teams Brawn, Ferrari, Bmw, Toyota, Red Bull, Williams, and Renault all having a chance for the podium. So bring on Melbourne! :flag:

I "fear" it will rather be a 2006 scenario then a 2004 one

I thought, Brawn Gp could be like McLaren in 2005, fast car, but how about reliability?

lol.Brawn seems to be the most reliable team on the grid so far. They had only one? stop because of engine failure.

The one in Jerez? That was gearbox. Not sure what the one was where Rubens stopped out of the pits in Barcelona.
