I must say, this was a well kept secret. Usually first there are some rumours, followed by weeks of denying, and then a press conference with "breaking news".
This time, I read it here in the afternoon and it was confirmed before the evening.

Hamilton aside, I believe Ferrari are idiots for sticking with Leclerc instead of Sainz

I actually wonder how Leclerc feels about this. I would have a feeling he's thinking Ferrari don't trust him enough and want a real proven champion to bring them glory.

Ferrari will look stupid if Sainz turns out to be the strongest driver in the team this year, or even challenge for the title.

The Australian GP twitter account deleted a tweet that said that Lewis' first race with Ferrari would be in Australia.

Agreed, but I guess they looked at the history of the two, Leclerc will often moan over the radio, but will 99% of the time play the team game, Sainz has a long history going back to Torro Rosso of responding “no go fuck yourself” when he’s asked to do anything for the team that won’t benefit him directly.

I guess they considered it would cost them less in spare parts in the long run.

I wonder if Hamilton can build a winning team for the future like Schumacher did twice (although both times he had Ross Brawn doing the hard work)

while Mercedes looks like with Brabham in the mid 80's, past its former glory, with a good engineering teams and a principal wanting to rule everything instead of just one team

Again, Hamilton will be 40 by the time the 2025 season starts. How long is he going to last? Would anyone dare to give him more than 2 seasons? Never long enough to build a complete team around him. I think he hopes Ferrari will build a rocket for 2026, and if not, it will be a well deserved retirement at the end of that year.

Another day, another livery reveal. Haas go for a "let's have more black with that" approach...

Which is like taking a grain of sand off a beach and expecting it to make a difference.

I don't think that Sainz has the same outright pace that LeClerc has. On his day, he's one of the only drivers that can challenge Max. Difficult to choose between the two. Sainz is decent and consistent. Charles will probably score more wins but throw the car in the wall a few times.

It's possible that a 40 year old Hamilton will be past his peak and get beaten by Charles. Going to be a very interesting head to head.

More gossip all of the sudden. If this is true I wouldn't be surprised if Max himself told Marko & Horner who should be RBR #2.

He (Albon) deserves a second shot though. But I also fear he is the kind that does well in the likes of Williams but falters in the top teams

I don't believe they'll take Albon over Perez, Ricciardo or Tsunoda. Much easier to swap internally than to get Albon back who kind of failed in his first stint at the team
