That or Mercedes have their decision set on promoting Antonelli to a race seat in 2026 and need a one-year stop gap driver, which would rule out Sainz. But Vettel on the other hand might be tempted...

well that's something quite likely. Might depend on what Antonelli shows on F2 though

Yeah, Antonelli has enough Super License points through all these F4 Regional series but his start to F2 campaign has been very uninspiring to say the least.

Théo Pourchaire was going to be a super star. Remember? How about waiting till Antonelli actually delivers something other than a Formula Regional title. How about actually winning in F2 first.

Well, he already qualified on the front row in Albert Park. And, if he is making some mistakes, he's also learning pretty fast by making them. If really feels like it's something special and that all we need now is some patience.

The corner where Albon and Russell crashed (Hauger too in the F2 race) at Albert Park is set to change

Quote:
FIA sources have confirmed to Speedcafe that work is already underway to assess exactly what change will be made, with the likely outcome a tightening of the apex at Turn 6.

- Creating fast tracks and redesigning some of the corners to be faster
- big crash
- *Surprised Pikachu meme.png*
- Making changes because it's doo dangerous

Several drivers crashed in Suzuka. Let´s not go there anymore, too dangerous

In fairness, the danger here seems to have come from how accidents have resulted in cars being spat back towards the middle of the track. They seem to have solved this problem at Spa without ruining it, so there's hope...

That´s because it hasn´t happened yet. And the situation with Russell in Melbourne might never happen again.

Well, prior to Russell we had Albon crashing there twice and keeping stationary on track on both times. That's too often IMO.

This corner was poorly redesigned actually.

Nah stop the development work right now, they've got it spot on. Let's bring it forward to 2025.

Having to drive so conservatively they're slower than F2 cars - hell yes
Cars spinning on straights because of the power of DRS - hell fucking yes

wait until Liberty declare bankruptcy after a weird recession and then F1 gets bought by some money laundering enterprise with infinite money that decide that more is better and put their friends on shady organization with pay drivers that brings chaos to the races. Something in the likes of a kind of Flavio Briatore with drivers like Gregor Foitek and Sergio Canamassas

Well, as long as F1 stays under FIA, the requirement of 40 super license points ensures that those eligible for F1 have proved to be somewhat good drivers in feeder series.

Would Andretti be allowed to buy the Alpine entry? One of reasons the FOM rejected the Andretti entry was that they basically thought the Andretti organisation had no idea what the fuck it is doing.

So I can't see them being allowed to buy another team or fielding their own based on the previous ruling.
