Mexico turn 1-2-3 is the worst combination ever.

A 20 meter wide straight leading into a sharp apex means less defined entry lines into the corner from a given position on the track, compared to a smoother track profile. Even the great clean side-by-side battles like Norris/Gasly looked clumsy. Whenever entering side-by-side, drivers tip-toe into it and try to find where to go. Leclerc gave a somewhat wider berth than usual to Verstappen at the start because as soon as you're not on the main racing line, you have no idea what the guy beside you will be doing or when they will effectively turn in.

Not saying Perez and Tsunoda aren't at fault, they completely are. And the same happened in Qatar with a smooth corner. But the layout still doesn't help. The fact it's 3 corners instead of 2 only, also often killed any over/under attempts from the passed car. By the 3rd corner they often end up on the same line and get the same exit.

It all looks like crap, drives like crap, races like crap. This track only delivered because a top driver missed his qualy. Not even the red flag could redeem it. It used to be still a favourite thanks to the fandom there, but the days where they enthusiastically shouted "NICO! NICO!" seem long gone in favour of Netflix toxicity it seems.

You're really gonna fuckin VAGUE TWEET something like this and not expect me to be worried now.

EDIT: Will Buxton is retweeting jokingly to this so my worries about someone's health i think can rest.

I'm calling Ricciardo to replace Perez who is retiring immediately.

My money is on Alonso calling it quits. Team massively dropped the ball and the boss is both sticking to his son that will hamper improvement and looking to sell up

He's talking about Stroll selling up to the Saudis and Alonso moving to Red Bull.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

You mean all the other corners as well right? This track is right up there with Sochi levels of shit if you ask me. Has it EVER produced a good race? I'm talking about the 80's and 90's as well.

The rebuild ruined it. The original layout would allow for better racing nowadays in the first corners because it's more flowing. The esses were also harder to drive and required more commitment.

I think they reprofiled the original esses because they would have been exactly the sort of flowing, long corners that would amplify the aero wash and spread out cars before the stadium. The replacement isn't much better, but still.

Don't worry, once Perez retires, this race will disappear really quickly.

It will then be replaced by another great track somewhere in the middle east, the new epicenter for Motorsport.

The esses got watered down on safety grounds as well:

They could've kept the esses if there was enough run-off, but maybe Peraltada would've been turned into an overly banked soul-less flat-out corner like Zandvoort final corner. With two DRS zones the esses would not hurt the racing too much.

I dislike the stadium section for what it represents: it's designed for the podium/post-race show, more than for the racing. If you want to exhibit the cars for fans at slow speed, make an expo, don't draw the active racetrack to fit that agenda.

Perhaps they will keep it as it's in the same timezone as America and an easy race to attend for American fans. I mean, there were Las Vegas race billboards. Isn't this the first time another venue is advertised in a race?

Oops sorry my forum manipulation skills are rusty

Is this what it feels like to slowly become a boomer? *looks down at keyboard from above glasses, types with one finger*. No, probably not, I'm fine.
