This is already going to be horrible but to have the championship settled in the sprint really is the icing on the turd.

Couldn't care less. :tumble: For Suzuka I willingly woke up twice at 5 am to watch practice sessions. Here, I'm only willing to watch (reluctantly) Sprint and GP and skip everything else.

And to think that Qatar got a contract that will last until 2032 like that, while many classic circuits have to make new deals almost annually. Oil money smells, and it stinks. F1 is more corrupted than FIFA and IOC. :yuk:

don't forget that since this is in a oil rich micronation and no supports is guaranteed to see paid fans attending this one with fake cheering each time cameras focus on them

Will try to watch the sprint race on Sunday afternoon before the actual race. Or both in the evening.

Weren't they moving to a street circuit for 2024?

Thought I read that, but I've just read they've invested a whole heap of money into this circuit, so I guess not?

Great track in a great country to go on holiday in the winter.
And on top of that it has a great human right's record these days.

All hail our oil overlords

I thought that too, but it's going to be at the permanent circuit for the next 10 years. Tbf, the last race there wasn't too bad

I wonder how many people will turn up. There's been so little promotion.

The Race had a random advert for the tickets for the race during this vid they posted 5 days ago. Stark contrast to some of the races where tickets sell out rapidly

generally they give away tickets to employees of F1 partners like Salesforce, Aramco and Crypto, as long they start jumping when cameras focus on them

If it's anything like the world cup they'll have a grandstand filled with migrant labourers from Nepal and Bangladesh wearing orange shirts and waving dutch flags.

it'll be funny if Hamilton finishes on the podium and calls for the "great crowd here tonight" during the interview

Of course he will say that. He is programmed that way.

What I think has been funny this year is that Max has been saying it a lot during his podium interviews, either to psych out Lewis or it's a mandatory thing FOM require you to say/is just a nice thing to do, but no-one here has either noticed or had a problem with it... :whistling:

Just like you are programmed to counter everything remotely negative said about Hamilton with empty arguments.
