IMHO the season is being saved because there are still good battles in the rest of the field and the director actually is showing them instead of showing Max cruising to victory.

We had season where 1 team was utterly dominant and where the only one being shown as well.

This all leaves such a sour taste in my mouth. We've seen some incredible feats of actual racing: Verstappen's outrageous final laps, Perez/Sainz battle, go-kart fighting groups of 5-6 cars at the back. The sort of madness we all love.

But how is the whole thing packaged? Like crap. It made half the field look like complete amateurs

By the way, those final turns are somewhat similar configuration to the start of Barcelona final sector: short straight with run-off you want to step on to widen the line out a corner and into the next corner. Even the most precise driver in the field (Verstappen) almost got a penalty there. Barcelona was slightly easier to avoid, due to slower speed, and actual gravel not far from the track for reference. In Austria it's just a poor combination of track section / track limit rules combo.

It's not the drivers, it's the tracks and ruleset. Fix either, or both.

after all the penalties, time to see what's new on stats

.42nd win for Max Verstappen (rank 5 overall)
-5th consecutive win (matches his own personal best)
-reached 248 consecutive laps on the lead (rank 3rd overall behind Senna and Ascari)

.26th pole position start for Max Verstappen
-equals Mika Hakkinen to rank 10th overall

.101st win for Red Bull Racing (102nd for the legacy team)
-10th win in a row (equals Mercedes and Ferrari to rank 2nd overall)

.800th podium finish for Ferrari

What does this mean? Because if you´re talking about Toro Rosso, that team has scored 2 wins.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

exactly, if you count Mercedes they have 23 from Tyrrell, 1 from Honda, 8 from Brawn and more 116 from their latest iteration totaling 148 victories

Aston Martin have 0 victories, but 5 on their tally from Jordan and Racing Point

Alpine has just 1 victory, plus 19 from Renault later iteration, 27 more from Benetton and those 2 Kimi won back when Genii used the name Lotus on the outfit (which is a big mess)

is just some extra stats given the official count is for the name rather from the operation itself as teams come and go

That should not count IMHO. Stewart is not Red Bull, that´s a completely different team.
Toro Rosso has 2 victories, one as Toro Rosso and one as Alpha Tauri, because that was just a rebrand.

In Tyrrell/BAR swap only the entry was purchased and the team didn't continue in the same headquarters unlike in some others.
