From an Ultra Capitalism perspective, this makes perfect sense. Children who are hooked by F1 content at a young age have a much higher chance of becoming adults who fork out for subscriptions.

It's the traditional "I started watching as a kid" pathway, only forced in order to maximise future profit.

Didn't the BBC do a children's based commentary option in 2009?

We did a TBK based commentary option in 2008.

Unfortunately it was difficult as people were in different countries on various delays, but I remember it being funny at stages.

Or, you know, make it more accessible. The paywall is whats killing F1.

The majority of us grew up with F1 being free to watch and our dads probably watched so we watched along and got hooked. Because we're already hooked, we are willing to pay for it if possible.

F1 is "safe" for now but just wait until the free to watch generation starts to die. The numbers will plummet.

I have never paid for anything ever, except for tickets to watch the race live at the track.

They did the same for the NFL with Nickelodeon and it's amazing:

funny that my dad only watched F1 and I was seeking desperately other racing series to watch having only regular terrestrial TV. He didn't liked MotoGP and Indycar/CART because he thought it was too much dangerous

That's so very true (although my dad never watched motorsport, my grandpa did, and one time we just happened to visit him while F1 was on so I got hooked immediately). Nowadays of course there's Drive to Survive and YouTube and social media full of racing clips and crash compilations. So it's not entiry impossible to "accidentally" get hooked.

Yet, I don't think Hungaroring is the best place to try to get kids hooked on F1. If it's dry, it can be a total snoozer. I would have selected Australian, Canadian or British GP instead.

Good times <3

Remember how we all imitated the onboard camera engine sound for a few laps during the Lowe's race? Sky can only dream of that kind of insight.

Or how we expertly commentated on the 'Draft Trax' graphics Nascar were running at the time.

No innuendo at all.

Looks like Bridgestone has applied to be a supplier from 2025 onwards alongside Pirelli.

Well, even a tire war can't make F1 MUCH worse at this point, unless Red Bull picks the right one of the two.

Yep, Kyalami scrapped because of South Africa's links with Russia, supposedly.

Bridgestone will probably be pitching on a "one tyre per season" enviromental campaign, note it

Well, maybe they'll let them have 4, but we'll see :whistling:
