Williams are having a fan vote competition for the one off Gulf Livery they'll use at Singapore, the options all look pretty awesome

Got this somehow recommended in my feed 9 years later.
Great imitation on par with the real thing back than.

Sepang is thinking of returning for 2025, as a night race.

Sign me up for a return to Sepang! Dunno if it ought to be a night race, though...

Laurent Rossi really doesn't come across as an inspiring leader. Shits on his team publicly then suggests those words are what spurred them on.... definitely getting seagull management vibes from him

decent camera angles too :8:

This was a success. The new angle facing Ste Devote exit paid for itself with Perez and Albon. And the camera midway between La Piscine and La Rascasse really sells how short and powerful that run is.

Sepang returning would be nice, making it another night race not. I really don't mind watching a race at 8 in the morning. In fact, I prefer it so I can do something usefull in the afternoon.

Makes you wonder if China is going to be dropped and that's the replacement

I'm up for a night race at Sepang, usually their start time is 4am here so starting at 9am is way much better

plus a race start after a big storm means a drying track under the lights

Eh. I really liked the sense of speed the old angles would give, especially in the 2nd sector. The exit of the Nouvelle Chicane and the run to Tabac, the low angle in the first half of the swimming pool and the high angle on the exit of the second are the ones that I missed the most, especially the swimming pool ones.

Turns it from a 6-7pm race to a midnight-1am race here on a Sunday, so no thanks

It was a perfect race for us Aussies, usually 4-5pm, have a few beers with mates, then relax after as the weekend was winding up. Now it's another race we miss unless we're night owls with no responsibilities on Monday.

Yeah but America. Same reason why every race in Europe now starts as late as the sun allows, and anything that can be flood-lighted will be in the short future.

I dislike the 3pm/4pm/5pm local time start in Europe. Even for the attendees, it means less time available to exit the track and get through traffic, compared to the usual local 1pm-2pm time back when they didn't care about international audiences.

Despite it being nearly 25 years old I still think of Sepang as one of first 'modern' circuits that F1 went to, and it's still probably Tilke's magnum opus

Istanbul Park has entered the chat :whistling:

No, in fairness Sepang is right up there.

Sepang is probably Tilke's best design indeed.

I loved when they moved up start times one hour and were greeted by a storm

Am I marketing retarded, or is this just stupid?

Us IndyCar fans worried how to make the 500 less exiting, and look at these guys

if they want to get children into it (and make more money) they should make an animated series, like Pole Position, Wacky Races that we used to watch as kids

plus they could get that sweet licensed products money
