His first good deed

Obviously the teams are against it, so you have to wonder what the real game plan is here, stamping his authority, wanting something else to be eased through, because it it'll be hard to get them to accept a shared revenue loss if 1 or 2 new teams come in...

The teams will never want an extra competitor for multiple reasons, so I think in this instance given the appetite to join F1 from high quality sources, it's only right he steps in

If the teams don't want an extra team, then the last team in the championship just gets replaced by a new team. Easy solution. Want back in? Wait in line again behind other new teams that want in. Every year last team gets replaced. They´ll up the team limit from 10 to 12 or 13 very fast this way.

Every team that wants in has to file a F2 team first. Winner of constructors WC in F2 replaces last in F1.

Like a football competition. Last F1 team goes to F2, winning F2 team goes up.

This would be such a bad idea, that I can´t believe Domenicaly hasn´t planned it yet.

I believe the relegation thing was last used in F3000 in 2001? NASCAR also had that going until covid, three straight seasons as bottom three team and your charter is revoked?

A little more complex than that - the crypto sponsor didn't pay (no wai!) and Ferrari also ended up in breach of contract.

Andretti have now met the arbitrary suggestion that they need to bring a manufacturer with them, so we shall see what roadblock the teams invent next.

Post subject:  Re: 2023 Formula One Random Discussion Thread

aside for Andretti, is there any other party interested in building a team from scratch?

I can already see FIA vetoing Michael from entering once he meets those demands (considering he does it) and allowing shady characters such as eastern european gangsters or chinese entrepeneurs with that sweet chinese communist party money to spend in F1 as good old money laundering

FIA allows Andretti-GM in. Things are signed, GM pulls out but Andretti is still in unless they pay Andretti billions. All this will be possible because of the loophole fetish the fia has and GM using said loophole to pull out.

Watch something like that to happen.

Or GM gonna do a OEM deal with Renault or RBR. They will not produce their own engine.
