perhaps he might have to paint it back like a Sauber once that cease and desist from Maranello arrives

oddily enough, that kinda remembers me of a small child ride in a mall back when I was a child. 30 years later the same ride stays on the same mall, but the cars who had original liveries such as the Camel Lotus, Benetton B189, Marlboro McLaren and Ferrari had all been painted by grafitti or stencil once the original liveries had worn out

HAAS have shown their new livery. Surprise surprise, it's black and white.

What is surprising is how little space MoneyGram get - only the engine cover and the front wing.

Rich Energy got more than that.

Is it true that teams are using these colours because they are lighter

How can colours be lighter?

The colour doesn't change the weight of the vinyl or paint being used :?

It would only be lighter if it were raw or unpainted, or they were using coloured carbon fibre

Jaguar disagrees with you.......Ok, Ok, it was because they were using a metallic paint with extra shit in it....but it was still a colour change that was lighter!

I want someone to use Vantablack. That would be sweet as. The sponsors logos would pop then!

Lots of teams removed paint from their cars over the course of last season for that reason. I must admit, I haven't seen enough photos of the Haas to see if it's unpainted or black paint. The latter would seem a bit silly...

or they could be doing a development of paints outside budget cap with chemichal industries to gain some precious tenths out of their liveries

Yea, the few thousandths of a second saved ought to really help them in their fierce battle for P9 in the constructors'.

The entry process is open. Up to 2 new teams will be allowed to join.

One will apply. None will enter after the current teams had their temper tantrum.

until they depose him and null all his decisions

At this point there is a bigger chance that Mercedes will come out and say they cheated for the last 10 years and that they will hand back all driver and constructors titles and pay the other 9 teams 1 trillion dollar each than that the current 10 teams will allow even 1 new team to enter.

Andretti will enter

But by then Williams, Haas and possibly Alpine will be gone so they they'll be welcoming him with open arms as they whole 3 car team notion gets floated again to make up the minimum numbers required.

Also I find it really stupid they're aiming for 2025, when there's a giant new rules package (engine and potentially moveable aerodynamics, etc) planned for 2026

I can't see any team wanting to come in for 1 year and then have to make a whole new concept again for the next year.

The 2025 target is most certainly a deliberate date chosen to appease the current teams to act as a deterrent for new teams joining. Unless of course the FIA allows teams to defer for a year till 2026. Because think about, for a 2025 entry teams will only have at most a year and a half to recruit and put together a team from scratch and design and build a car. It would take at least 6 months (more) to fully recruit a competent F1 team with experience.

And then have them run parallel development programs in that first 12 months, when established outfits like Williams and Haas seemingly can't even run one. That is a deliberately concocted recipe for disaster.

It's now an open that secret that Ford will supply engines for Red Bull come 2026, which should be official tomorrow.

I hope they use the good old Cosworth brand.

They would have to buy it back from Gerry Forsythe first.

Amusing to see the whinging over GM coming in as a branding exercise, and then this happens, presumably without complaint.

Seriously, at this point why have they even banned private testing. At the bottom of the article it says Lando tested the car a day before Oscar. Yes it might have just been to check new track procedures, personnel, seating etc but it is still a private test.

We see it all the time. So and so has run the teams old car for X amount of kilometres. Just say to the teams you have 3 days of private testing throughout the year, and one of these days has to be for young drivers as well as the two FP1's. There is just no point anymore.

I don't disagree with your view on private testing, but running an old-spec car to give a new driver track time is clearly very different to running a current-spec car and probably being more focussed on spending billions developing the car.
