I honestly feel that it is 100% up to him. After this Max still has 2 races to surpass the 13-win season record and I feel he is the kind of guy that would gift Perez this win after the things Perez did for him over the last 2 years.
But that means he needs to be in P2 behind Max to get it.

In the press conference, Alonso said he thought Stroll's penalty was harsh. His new employer must have had a word...

It would be great to see Perez win here, but he may have to do it on pace. I think Max is too competitive to just let him through. It may need another slow pit stop.

Honestly, I can't see Alonso and Stroll Sr. get along. He'll either be leaving after 1 season or even like a half.

Alonso already said after the race that he thought it was a race accident, and no penalty was needed.

Alonso is so used to big moments and crashes that even a big air is a racing incident for him

After many surprisingly good races, I will refrain from bad-mouthing this track until Sunday night. Just in case it delivers an absolute banger, like so many horrendous tracks did with this year's regulations.

It seems that the Formula 1 site does not take into account daylight savings change when converting start times.

All sessions are shown with the same time difference (7 hours) to local Mexico time. From Friday to Sunday. Unless Mexico is also changing their time Saturday night, the Sunday race is supposed to start differently, with only 6 hours difference to Mexico.

TL;DR: tune up one hour before whatever time you think the race is at.

I believe that in western europe, qualifying starts at 22h and race on Sunday at 21h.

These tyre test practice sessions are pretty rubbish. Race weekends aren't the time for meaningless test sessions.

100% agree. Just stay on and do a days test on the Monday after one of the GPs, or schedule one on a Thursday before.

People see him as the lion of F1 and the only one left that can be relied on to say it as it is, but he's also a massive fucking hypocrite at times

Literally any other driver doing that, he'd have gone full Alonso on the radio and in the press "you can't drive with these people, they have no mirrors, they will kill somebody" etc etc

His future team mate and son of the guy who is about to give him millions of dollars to toil around in the midfield?
Oh sure, now his dangerous move that sent him up in the air is no problem at all........give me a break fernando

Imagine if we were still fighting for both championships. I don't see teams so interested in next year's tyres.

I might just agree with you on something for once. Once I saw the incident happen I thought he would go full Fernando and say "who is this clown? Crazy driver", but he actually was .... political?
Wonder how long that will last though

Alonso's last great move will be to detonate another team that he thinks is favouring his team mate

Aston Martin better be fucking scrupulous in their dealings over the next couple of years, because if they piss Alonso off he'll be e-mailing the FIA with whatever "red bull plans copy+paste and paint green" data he can find when he get pissed off about them favouriing lance lol

Not helped by the tyres being terrible

The longer the Pirelli era has gone on the more obvious it is to me at least, that a big reason why the racing has been crap for the last 5-6 years is that after the first few years of being in the sport, the tyres are just terrible.

You can argue (and justifiably) that the teams constant request for them to be changed after the first few years has led to the current tyres, but it is clear that Pirelli are just doing the bare minimum required.

The sooner they are replaced the better in my opinion. Get a manufacturer that actually wants to progress tyre technology/construction, not one that has won the contract and is just doing what it needs to do to get by.

And this is coming from someone that was a big supporter of them for the first few years.
