give Pato a taste of F1 at his home race

and another big crash for Alonso, and his car survived. Alpine built that car with Dacia parts

Hamilton lost 1.5s in the last lap, making it 5.023s behind. So even a 5s penalty for Verstappen would not give Hamilton the win. I would think he would make an effort to keep it under 5s.

I noticed those since about the summer break. Probably for the 'Drive to Survive' F1 fans. :whistling:

The fact that McLaren is still in the running for 4th place in constructors says so much about Norris!

F1TV broadcast was doing lots of comparisons with Nascar and Indycar cautions during the SC to show the regular american audience how different

but yeah, race was quite action packed, mostly were out of depth because of the battle for the lead

I stepped out and missed the middle of the race. When I came back and saw the talk about 'nearly in the fence' I had to go and find a replay because I didn't understand why the timing still showed him running.

I actually kinda became an Alonso fan all the way back in 2003 when he had a similar day: got huge air and damaged the car at the start at Monza and drove it back to a good finish. He’s got the magic touch.

Fucking Hell that is pathetic from the FIA. Stroll's move was the epitome of a late and highly dangerous jink, that could have had an absolutely terrible outcome. Then to hear his "defense"? Was Grosjean in Spa 2012 the last dangerous driver ban? Stroll's was WAY worse than that. He should be getting the boot for a race or two.

Somehow I can't imagine Alonso being a good little boy and letting daddy's golden child boss him around next year. I actually feel like Alonso might finally be the guy to get that talentless turd out of F1.

And Alonso has been demoted out of the points while no action taken against Perez. Interesting that the Stewards noted that Race Control SHOULD have shown the black and orange flag....you know, the guys sitting there, right next to the Race Director, unable to do anything because the Race Director didn't refer the matter to them.

Or are they deflecting blame? For not saying hey mate, does that mirror look ok to you?

What the fuck? How can they retrospectively demote Alonso for having an unsafe car when they didn't flag him down during the race? This makes no sense to do after the fact. Yes at the time if they had waved him into the pits under precautionary grounds would've made sense. But they didn't. So now they can go back and penalize drivers for things they forgot to do during the race?
