What should get you two points are the "minor" moving under braking that Leclerc and Hamilton did to the Red Bull drivers yesterday.

100% agree. Absolutely disgusting. With jut a little bit less luck we wouldnt even be discussing the given penalty but speculation about the condition of 2 or even 3 drivers.

If Alonso gotten a bit more air it would have been very nasty. If they didnt manage to avoid Stroll's car, it would have been very nasty.

I've seen (fair) comment that Alonso could have moved more and moved sooner, but it definitely doesn't take away the point that there was no accident if Stroll didn't move to block.

I also agree about the penalty being far too lenient, and the FIA once again telling all drivers at all levels that it is ok to block a driver who attempts to overtake at any point. How the hell does IndyCar manage to get their drivers to behave when the so-called pinnacle of motorsport has found it impossible?

If they decided to automatically give a 5-second penalty and 2 points to every driver who does it, every time, they problem would be gone within a month or two.

Aah, remember the times when drivers survived a high speed crash, had to pit for repairs, rejoined the track last but fought back, drove as hard as they could, and still managed to get back in the points after a heroic drive?

The penalty for Alonso is just to cover their own butts. They should have meatballed him the moment it was clear that mirror was loose.
Same with Perez.

Haas has every right to be mad because Magnussen got meatballed for exactly the same damage as Perez.
They need to stop being naive and think teams will call in the driver themselves because they will only pit when absolutely necessary. And since Perez didnt seem to have too much hinder from that broken front wing, they didnt pit him.
Same with Alonso and same with Magnussen earlier this year. And same with countless of other occasions.

I'm getting really sick with the FIA preaching safety one moment and then blatantly ignoring it the next. Do we really need another Massa moment before they start acting? But then again, we've seen in Japan that the FIA will never learn and rather blame everyone else......

The issue here is that Jo Bauer considered the car to be legal in Parc ferme but then it was deemed illegal. Alpine are going to dispute the penalty.
