It's so wonderful Zandvoort is now permanently(?) back in F1 calendar. 10 years ago everyone would've laughed if they were told F1 will race in Zandvoort in 2021/22. I'm a big fan of narrow tracks that provide rally-esque challenge, i.e. no room for error. Consequently Suzuka, Monaco, and Zandvoort belong to favorites. Obviously narrow tracks rarely provide good racing, apart from feeder series. But to be honest, there are 20+ tracks were you can pass very easily, so for variety's sake, it's good to have different type of circuits as well. For me, qualifying will be the main event. Too early to tell how the weather will look like. |

Too early to tell how the weather will look like. From our local politics here in Zandvoort I heard Zandvoort has an option for 2 more years in place (so 3 more after this year), and will discuss afterwards For sure qualifying will be most important. There is a slight chance for rain, especially on the Saturday. However, from experience I know a lot of the predicted rain doesn't actually fall in Zandvoort, so we'll have to see about that I'll be there on Friday, first time at an F1 event for me. Hope I can actually get my camera into the place as they're really strict about what you can bring this year |

Hopefully FOM or the fans will cover the corner where that Formula Regional flip happened and which was missed by the cameras. |

the way the track was rebuilt gives that slot car track sensation to it, is something unique given the more compact nature compared to other new tracks (long wide street tracks) and that provides a tunnel vision sensation which also increases the speed with these new cars could be quite a thrill to drive there on flying laps, for race not that much |

I just love the banked corners, even now it's still feels rare to see a formula 1 car go through a banked corner, and the possibilities the turn 1/2/3 layout mean for being able to potentially go around the outside fo your opponent using the banking are enough for me to enjoy this track, even if that mainly applies to F2/F3 and Formula W if its here, more than F1 itself |

Zandvoort was a fine venue for cars racing on reverse gear quite a thrill to roll a car that didn't had laminated windshields (at 0:27) |

As a kid those races where the highlight of the year. They also used to run with caravans behind but those didnt run backwards. But still, you can imagine the carnage. The cars used where Daf's wit the CVT transmission so same speed going backwards as going forwards. The commentator is famous Dutch comedian Andre van Duijn (famous as in famous in the Netherlands). Red Bull hinted at doing a stunt this year with 2 cars painted in the RBR and AT colors but I cant find the tweet again. |

Remember cars kept dragging gravel onto the track in turn 12 last year? They've applied a resin to a 1 meter strip on the edge of the gravel in the hope it'll stay where it is. It's never been used before, so I wonder how that's going to work out. It's certainly interesting |
