I was disappointed by the pace Sainz had on his soft tyres in the last stint. I expected him to do qualifying laps, get fastest laps, and storm to the podium but none of that. Instead it was Hamilton who did all that. |

and now for some bonus stats -worst grid position to win for Max Verstappen (before that was 2 4th place grid starts to win: Silverstone 2020 [70th anniversary GP] and Jeddah 2020) -only the 3rd time a driver starts 10th or lower to win at Hungaroring (37 races, the other two were Button 2006 [started 14th] and Mansell 1989 [started 12th]) and 4th time that a winner started worse than 4th (Ocon last year started on 8th position) -Russell's pole position marks the 11th straight season for at least one race with a Mercedes on pole |

Awesome race, enjoyed it much more the second watch. As I was very frustrated by the lack of rain and no battle for the lead at the start of the first run that I just lost interest. This time, paying attention to Max race and all others. It was a blast. First race that I watch a second time right afterwards since I stopped doing it in 2002. |
