Last year's race

A wet start with crashes, a restart with a sole car on the grid and "El plan" to hold Hamilton at all costs gave Alpine and Ocon their maiden victory

Mixed conditions. Everyone starts on the grid with slicks, except for Hamilton who slips into the pits alone for inters.

Ah, at least a track which you can look at. Although, sadly, Hungaroring has lost its pastoral feel over the years. I wish they restored it to look like what it was 20+ years ago.

Could be another wet qualifying. I would prefer a wet race for a change. But in recent year we seen pretty good races here in dry conditions as well. So looking forward to the weekend.

Another track where the 2022 rules can only make it better....

Whether that makes this race overall GOOD or not is another matter, depends how dominant Ferrari's higher downforce package is or how many mistakes Leclerc makes

Mercedes will still be nearly a second behind the top 2 teams despite all the predictions of Hamilton winning. It's not 2013, different circumstances right here.

This ought to be a strong Ferrari track. If they don't get a 1-2 and somehow manage to screw this up again, they might as well gift the championships to Verstappen/RBR and shift focus to the 2023 car.

Risk of rain has decreased. Thundery showers for Saturday, but when (or if) they arrive, it's impossible to say. Nonetheless, Friday and Sunday are fully dry.

If Max gets about 2 wins more from now on he could pretty much cruise home finishing second while LeClerc wins the rest of the races and gets fastest lap.
I dont see Ferrari winning all 8, let alone 9 or even 10.

If Ferrari shifts focus to 2023, RBR can do the same. Which I assume would be worst case scenario for Mercedes. They're still playing catchup and a long title battle between RBR and Ferrari could potentially help them for 2023

Mercedes will bag at least 2 victories this season and that will unbelievably play in favour of Max and Red Bull

Only if RBR and Ferrari shift focus to 2023 early and Mercedes sticks to their 2022 car. If LeClerc actually manages to close the gap Mercedes has no chance unless we get another meme race.

If Red Bull and Ferrari both sort out their reliability problems, we might not even see a Mercedes on the podium anymore.

It gets more and more likely from now one that at least one if not more of the cars will have to head to the back of the grid for engine penalties

If Merc can synch their upgrade/reliability to the weeks when Red Bull or Ferrari have to send someone down the field, they could get lucky again
Gotta be something like that though.

Or Rain

The only way Merc will win again is if there is another pile up at the first corner and they are further back like Ocon last year. They ain't winning anything on merit. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Something that happens to most teams that dominate for a while. Look at McLaren. Look at Williams. Look at Ferrari. Look at Red Bull. And now: look at Mercedes

Alfa Romeo is perhaps the most emblematic case, heading to 71 years and 173 races on a winless streak
