He and many other Brits (but not all) are very sensitive about the topic, as you can see. 8)

Lewis took out Max at Silverstone and Max repaid him in full at Monza. Fully justified move. :flag:

Another example of this is when Schumacher took Hill out in Adelaide, and in response Hill took both of them out at Silverstone and Monza the following year. No mistakes from either driver, only malice and revenge.

I notice that Benson does not cover Mercedes' protests over the Honda engine at the beginning of last year which forced a redesign, nor their lobbying for stronger wing tests which also forced Red Bull to redesign those components, nor the lobbying over pitstop procedures when they couldn't change the tyres as fast as Red Bull. It's a two-way road.

--------

There will be no TV coverage of the first test at Barcelona. Liberty have offered the specious reasoning that it is because the Barcelona test is not pre-season testing, but something they have called 'pre-testing'.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Liberty is losing a great opportunity to set up a huge pay wall to get an exclusive sneak peek into the 2022 cars on track

Even though they'll do extensive runs which is kinda boring

This will also affect the FIA's first-choice medical car driver :whistling:

Looks like money issues canned sprint races

Plus no more used tires from Q2 to be used on the start

According to documents circulated to teams last year, F1 estimated that the addition of six sprint races in 2022 would lift the sport's revenues by around $10 million thanks to commercial and broadcast opportunities, with this being shared with the teams.

Surprise surprise. This is the only reason sprint races exist. Screw them. I don't care if they got additional 10 billion dollar revenues. F1 must not get ruined by gimmicks. :slaphead:

The whole reason F1 still exists, in a world where fossil fuels are finite, and where every milliliter of fuel burnt without good reason further pushes us towards the inevitable cliff, is because of money.

6 races would have brought in 10 million? Shared with the teams? So maybe 3-7 million to be shared among the teams? and since we only had 3, split that in half.
Just can it completely. its not worth it at all.

This is being buried amid all the sprint race talk, is it true?

That'll take a massive tactical element out of qualifying and the race tbh, at what point do the teams have to nominate what tyre they'll use for the race now then?

I guess all teams on top 10 will start with the same tire and will be a train until pit stops

Looks ok, although the sidepod inlets are a little weird. I miss the holographic colours from the show car (yes, I know this was just an FIA design) but it's certainly not ugly like the 2014 cars and some of the 2009 ones!

I......like it?

Shall we put all the 2022 launches in one thread? For posterity etc so it's easy to look back on them in future years?

This is probably a better idea than the usual season thread and individual launch threads.

I quite like it too. Maybe the rear wing is a bit small compared to the front, but if it helps the racing...

Sidepod inlets definitely look a bit odd but overall I like it. Looks clean.
Is the era of the micropenis noses finally behind us for good?!
