For me, Mick will fall into the same category as Bruno Senna. The what-if scenario.

Bruno's career stalled for years after Ayrton died. But what if Ayrton didnt die and Bruno kept going with Ayrton's support and mentoring?
Same goes for Mick. What if Micheal never had his accident and was there to mentor Mick?

A lot has been said on how Jos mentored Max but at the same time I doubt Max would be where is is today without that. Could Bruno and Mick be in the same position as Max if their mentors where around?

I think Mick deserved at least another season. Even Giovinazzi got 3 seasons and he was definitely more of an average driver than Mick.

I don't see what Hulk will bring to Haas apart from experience.

This. It feels like a driver who probably could benefit from another chance is being shunted out in favour of a driver who has had a surprising amount of second chances.

If only there were 13 teams with 6 more seats available...
I feel bad if Mick's career is now done and he becomes a commentator or Twitch streamer. I wanted to see how Mick would do with a race-winner car. Now we may never see that happen.

After watching Mick since the lowest echelons of his career....it's proof once again that just because you have a famous surname, doesn't mean you're going to inherit their talent

Hell, if that was true, Max would be a mid-to-rear pack driver at best.

Mick only made it to F1 because of his name and *Activate Dan Tictum mode* SERIOUS HELP IN HIS ENGINE, SET UP AND TEAM IN THE LADDER SERIES FROM TODT AND THE FIA */Deativate Dan Tictum Mode* /s

He'll be fine in DTM or something like that, but didn't quite have what it takes for F1.

Yeah it's bit of a backwards decision by Haas. Pretty sure it's been prompted by Gene Haas as he only seems to chase after the $$$. Not sure why they wasted time investing in Schumacher's growth only to drop him for a 35 y/o that's a year or two at the most away from retirement. For Haas, it's all about that next race, getting points and simply surviving the year. This team appears to have no future growth aspirations whatsoever. And it seems their strategists have been spending far too much time with Ferrari's because their Sunday performance, particularly with Schumacher's side of the garage, has been nothing short of abysmal this year.

I guess it weighted the fact that Schumacher totaled two chassis in street circuits and compromised the cost cap

well Hulk is not that prone to heavy crashes, right?

Only now?

But talk about throwing someone under the bus. So this whole saga has been blamed on ONE person? Umm was there nobody to have an actual look at the "contract"? Talk about passing the buck.

Mário confirmed to Sky Germany that Lawson will be RB and AT's reserve while Ricciardo will also be involved as a "3rd driver".

Meanwhile, F1 decided to create the F1 Academy, a female only series that will be a part of the "official" ladder to get into F3 and the rest.

It doesn't say the winners will get a spot in F3 but at least the teams and tyres are the same as in the other steps. This doesn't replace W Series, which will continue to be its own thing.

15 cars only? :slaphead: No thanks. Even 20 cars in F1 feels miserable compared to F3 and Regional Race with almost 40 cars.
And if that means W Series will also shrink in size when some drivers decide to join F1 Academy (what a misleading name), it's a double blow.

why not pump the funds for this series into the W Series?

W Series had to cancel the season due to funds and what is their answer? Start another series to run besides it......

one good thing could be sharing the track with another junior formula on a different class, counting points for the main championship and that so called academy. This way they could stay in a more competitive enviroment and have proper coaching to climb the career steps

Would you give any money to the people running W Series, based upon their track record? I wouldn't.

This idea is a better idea than W Series (being positioned immediately after karting to stop girls from falling at the first hurdle) but is still not going to lead to any more girls getting into F3 and above. They are still going to need their own funding to get to that level. And again, any really talented girls will not waste a year in a segregated formula but will instead opt to prove themselves against all of their peers from the off.

The fact that not even the winner gets a shot in F3 is a hit on how effective this is.

Unsurprisingly looks like China will be coming off next year's calendar dropping us back down to 23 races. Good riddance I say. It also means we'll be left with a month long 'spring break', although I don't think the teams will mind that at all.

Didn't Champcar used to do this?

Schedule a chinese round every year, take the sanctioning fee, then say "sorry you've made it logistically unfeasable for us to race there, no refunds, bye"
