Perez is the perfect wingman in F1 today, can manage his tires like no one other, has a good racecraft and is a good team player. So he'll only have a championship shot if Max gets sick or injured

If Perez manages to be better than Max and lead the championship they will allow him to win.
That why I personally still think Ricciardo made the mistake of leaving RBR. At that time he was still capable of challenging Max and Max was still young enough to overdo it too much so he could have wiggled himself in a position where RBR had to support him over Max.

lol, no way. even when ricciardo was outdriving and scoring more points (and not causing collisions) RB still backed verstappen over him. it's the primary reason he left

Perez has re-signed for 2 more years at Red Bull, finally some stability for Red Bull again.

"They all look the same"

Well yeah that's what happens when you have only one circuit designer...

The maps are misleading. They are quite cartoonish compared to the circuit maps on the FIA website.

40%

However, there is a far more interesting scenario, at least for me, which is almost implied at such a given scenario.

What are the odds at Ferrari failing to deliver a top-2 driver at the WDC?

I'm afraid that is becoming a likely scenario. I think Charles is capable of vying for a title, but I still question our race pace vs tire wear, our reliability which looked bulletproof is also a question, and lastly we still have circus clowns for race strategists.

I thought we might be like Brawn in 2009 based on the first races, we just seemed to have the new formula right out of the starting gate, but it's clear RBR learned quickly from their mistakes and even Mercedes has found some extra pace here and there.

Back to more meaningful news, apparently Oscar Piastri knows he'll be driving at Silverstone (probably free practice outing) and there are some rumours Williams might switch to Renault in 2023 which would bring him on loan from Alpine. The idea that Latifi gets dumped mid-season seems the least possible but you never know?

The same year Europe just agreed to put an end to combustion engines for new cars

I secretly like Australia for this though. Once the whole world has flipped over, I will probably fly in just to visit coal mines/plants, and watch V8 supercars.

The contract also says that it will be the first race for 5 of the next 10 years, including 2024

Don't put too much stock in that ICE ban.

I agree, pushing for everyone to purchase electric vehicles could backfire big, battery technology and demand over the power grid could lead to chaos
