Thank fuck.

I also see tyre blankets will be banned from 2024 onwards. pretty intrigued by the flow on effects of that and how Pirelli will need to alter the design of the tyres, if at all. Harder sidewalls to cope with lower pressures on the outlap or will teams need to find a sweet spot at higher operating pressures than currently? Will also be interesting from a strategy point of view given the length of time it will take drivers to get up to speed as they bring tyres in and how that affects under/over cuts. Will increase the onus on the drivers ability on non ideal pressures which will be a good thing.

ELECTRIC tyre warmers will be banned. Watch teams developping a system that generates heat by petrol

Ah yeah, good old ecologic petrol. Fits well with ecologic Canada in the middle of European season

I wonder how the car would look if there was still refueling allowed

The good ol fashioned lay them out in the sun behind the garage. They can sell it as green solar energy.

I can somehow see the FIA doing FIA things and think by banning tyre blankets, they are banning tyre warmers, only for them to not actually write the rules correctly. And a team comes up with tyre warming boxes!

Haven't we seen this all play out exactly like this before? This scenario seems oddly familiar.

yes, there was. Back when McLaren started the F-duct, Mercedes reached out and built their own in a very complicated manner where the air entered behind and flowed into the front wing

of course FIA got fed up with those ducts and banned it all

there was also Red Bull playing with camera mounts on the front wing

Hamilton must be regretting for the rest of his life he didn't prevent the upcoming nuclear war when he had a chance. I'm sure you could easily cut carotid arteries with that trophy. :innocent: Of course, he would have received a 5-place grid penalty for the next race.

I'm thinking of actual tyre ovens. Maybe they did that in sportscars?

yeah used a lot and actually more useful than blankets because you get the wheel up to the same temperature but the downside is they're off the car. Anyway I suspect the FIA will write the reg pretty black and white on that one.

the engines of merc, ferrari, and rb are all supposedly close to level.

"Auto, Motor und Sport reports that calculations by Red Bull and Mercedes show that the Ferrari engine is currently four kilowatts (equivalent to 5.4hp) ahead of Red Bull Powertrain (Honda engine) and eight kilowatts (10.8hp) ahead of Mercedes. This could grow further as Ferrari still has an update for the hybrid part of the engine in reserve, and for reliability reasons the team has also not always set the engine to full power yet."

Assuming this is true, it says a hell of a lot about how slippery the Red Bull must be.

Is pretty much like the MP4/4 of our age, if it doesn't breaks it wins
