No humorous options. No shenanigans. 0 to 10 out of ten, one vote, make your pick.

I've been watching F1 since 1995, seen championship deciders live, read and watched about every season before that.

This is what my 10 had been saved for. Very few seasons in history reached this level of intensity every single race, and in a few months, the Masi-gates will be but back noise in the greatness that these two have gifted us on track this season - and that's without mentioning the other surprises we had along the way from the outsiders.

10 out of 10, up there with a couple other years in history.

10/10
The craziest one ever. Not only was the championship fight crazy, but also other things like Ocon and Ricciardo winning, Norris being on pole, whole Spa weekend, the fact we saw wet racing more than once, return of Zandvoort...I mean, was there any really dull races? Barcelona maybe. But even then, I think this year will be remembered as a special one for the rest of F1's history. I hope we all appreciated what we witnessed, because nothing similar might not happen for decades.

Or maybe I'm wrong and the next season will be even crazier.

9/10 for me. Fantastic season with some of the best racing I've seen in my decade of watching F1. So many good races that made me genuinely excited to watch the sport again. However the various incidents and controversies leave a slight sour taste in my mouth. Only going to take off one point, it was still an excellent year but I just couldn't fully enjoy it at times with how absurd certain races became.

I'll probably get flamed for this, and arguably it was better for me as I was way more invested back then (and a lot younger, living my best life at 18 and all), but I still feel the 2008 season was better. Just.

It's up there with 2008 for sure. I mean how many times in our lifetimes are we going to be able to say that we watched an F1 championship be decided in the last race and on the last lap.

10. It had moments of brilliance from both title contestants. It had moments where fans of either one was fuming. It had moments where fans of either one where cheering. It had controversy.

But more importantly, after 7 boring seasons where one team stood well above the rest we finally had a proper title fight between 2 teams.

The purist in me can't justify a perfect 10 because of all the backroom nonsense, and two title contenders seemingly unable to fight for position without the looming inevitablility of crashing or whizzing off the track. But good grief, what a season this has been! We won't be forgetting 2021 in a hurry... It's a solid nine for me.

10. Epic racing between the best 2 all year, what we were waiting for since forever. Almost every race was a duel with on track passes. We didn't really get any racing like this in 2008 between massa and Hamilton, or in any of the great seasons. Usually it was tight on points but the racing was not directly against each other on track, even in the title decider.

A shame the rules will change again just as it got so close at the front of the field.

10 from me (although I can understand being frustrated by some of the decisions throughout the year).

We've seen championships going down to the final round before, but I don't remember a year where the two leading drivers have been wheel to wheel as many times as in 2021. Some really hard racing. Some controversy. But two drivers so far ahead of everyone else, driving at 100%. I'm not sure anyone else on the grid would have performed as well, had they been in the Red Bull or Mercedes.

Not just a close championship, but so many good races as well. Although the top two teams were well ahead of the rest, we still had wins for McLaren and Alpine, and a pole for Ferrari. A podium (sort of) for Williams.

It's a shame the final race has left a bitter taste for some people. Enjoy the moment, because we'll be waiting a long time for a season like this again.

Has to be a 10 - it doesn't get any better than what we've had this year. I can't remember the last time there were so many memorable moments in a season. Oh and Ocon won a race.

Surely one of the best seasons I've ever witnessed. It's a 9 for me.

I still like 2012 better because the title battle had less noise like this year.

I'd still give a 9 because in another comparison with football it felt like the 1974 Netherlands playing 1970 Brazil ending 5x4 with a dubious call from the referee in the injury time

It was a great season overall and the final result was quite pleasing. I thought I wouldn't see Mercedes being defeated until they quit the sport and this felt like Max gave F1 back to us after years of domination

Anyway, I don't experience a season like this so soon, it was quite exhausting for me, my mental health was at stake during sometimes. Perhaps I take this shit too seriously

9. Would be a ten with less Masimania

Probably my second favourite season after 2012, which just had batshit crazy races and so many different winners that it just edges out this one with only 2 title protagonists all year long

Also 2012 at least had half the racing on Free to air TV, more than anything as I get older I'm getting sick of searching for live streams to watch the sport I love
And paying Sky a ridiculous amount for it? Nah
I realise that's not exactly the biggest deal when it comes to rating a season, but fuck streams lol

Best season I watched. Best fight for the title, both drivers are few levels above the other drivers and it went to the last race/lap.
Some nice racing, some nice crashes without injuries, great duels and banging wheels, some great dry races, some mixed conditions.

10, it had everything what a season needs to. Lots of unexpected twists and turns.
And i went to the Austrian GP to see the orange army go crazy, unforgettable.

I don't really know. It was exciting and interesting for sure; but I just can't help feel that somehow it was a tad manufactured. And I don't mean just Abu Dhabi but all throughout the season from the first race. Every 'exciting' race had a slight aftertaste of WWE wrestling.

Not to diminish Max's efforts though. Very very happy that he won in the end (as he should have anyway).

2003, 2000 and 1999 (not in order) were still better in my eyes. 2012 probably aswell.

But it was fun, 9/10.

I went for 9. If it wasn't for the debacle at the end would have given it 10.
