Those tecpro barriers actually seem to do an excellent job when they’re stacked 3-4 deep like that.

the way they set it up is like a safer-barrier made from tecpro. pretty clever

Hamilton's ran the "shoulder cam" all season, but this is the first time it's been the "wide angle" lens, which shows more of his helmet, his special LGBTQ colour helmet. Is this a trick on FOM's behalf with all the talk about Saudi Arabia's human rights issues?

If we see these dumbass slow cars in Q1, someone is going to go straight to the moon.

I hope they brief everyone clearly because the onboard with Lewis in FP2 was scary.

I don't see why the FIA can't say once you enter the back DRS zones (especially the last one) you have to be at racing speed. It is the same for everyone and will avoid a monster shunt from fast/slow cars.

Nobody really cares about this issue. We've had near misses before but they didn't do anything about it in years, so it's one of those things where someone dies first (in this case, probably a spectator or marshall), then you take radical knee-jerk action like one-car qualy or some stupid shit. That's the FIA way.

It's ridiculous how we got used to seeing how slow F1s go to nurse their tyres or prepare a lap, even in practice. On the road you get a fucking ticket and license points for this

Remember gents, criminal autocrats only exist because our beloved leaders enable them.

F1 is but a small drop in the ocean of salad tossing that marked history between western countries and this bunch of illiterate backwards dynasty of goat herders. Thanks to oil, they're always been cherished and defended while the rest of the oil-less Arab world is left with indifference at best, rejection at most, agression at worst.

Human rights groups have criticised Emmanuel Macron’s planned meeting with Mohammed bin Salman in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, which will mark the first one-on-one public meeting of a major western leader with the crown prince since the state-sponsored assassination of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

No second and third sector in qualy should be slower than 107% of your fastest time in that sector, problem solved. I excluded first sector because they are exciting the pits so it can't be measured correctly. Easy fix for all this cooldown the tires and recharge bullshit.

If you go slower, dq and back of the grid start

I don't know why they can't do this. There's a speed that they have to run to under the VSC. Why not have a faster version for qualifying in laps and out laps? Why wait until after the inevitable accident? It will surely happen eventually, and if it happens today on one of those high speed narrow sections...

I do love the fast parts of this circuit. The close walls give you a real sense of speed. Let's just hope the drivers respect each other in those areas.

it might be for drivers who slow to make sure they're not blocking on a fast corner. sometimes because of the timing drivers will practically park their cars off the racing line

Pierre being very polite there. Not sure Hamilton would want to cop 5 places for a new gearbox around this track.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

But this is exactly why they need to do it around the whole track, not just one part.
