And Gasly starts second despite being the cause of all these shenanigans

Honestly they need the Indycar yellow and red flag rules

What's the reasoning behind Bottas getting 3 but Max getting 5? They both did the same thing didn't they?

So Fernando will start 3rd, he must fancy his chances of being in the lead after T1

Bottas didn't improve his time and Max did. Also different yellows.

It was double yellows and Max improved his time when he went through and it was only a single when Bottas went through and he didn't improve his time.

You can see the yellow out as Bottas passed.

Like Hamilton in Austria, not seeing it is not an excuse.

Car stopped by the track, so Horner is moaning that the marshal brought out a yellow for it

Crossing my fingers for an Alonso or Gasly leading into turn 1, then it will be fun with the pack bunched up and overtaking as difficult as they say (which I don't believe, I think we will see passes into turn 1 with drs)

Hamilton was going to win the race anyway so the penalties don't really matter. The real question is how Bottas cocks it up in traffic and when Verstappen passes him?

"Now, Pierre, when you get to turn 1, you brake at the 100m board."

"But in practice I braked at the 150-"

"You brake at the 100m board."

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I know it's a cut and dry penalty, but watching PdR go over it on the Sky pad it's pretty fucking stupid to expect the drivers to be able to see these flags 100% of the time. And apparently race control turned off all the yellows, re-enabled DRS etc and told everyone to carry on but obviously that message didn't get to the marshals. Teams and drivers were getting mixed messages

I still say that the 3, 5 whatever grid place drops should be just that no matter the penalties for others.

On tv it went from yellow to green to yellow.

Maybe it was the first marshal station saying green as Gasley left that location, then when he stopped it went yellow again from a different station? Either way I can see how it's confusing!

I'm just going from what Horner said. My point is they had nothing on their dash, light panels weren't yellow, DRS was enabled, the only yellow flag was on the other side of the circuit to the stopped car, miles away from the track because of all the run off, with a bright blue light panel immediately before it to add to the distraction. How are you meant to see that at nearly 200mph?
