Track better be damp with light rain every 30 minutes, followed by dry periods so everyone is always on the wrong tyre. We deserve it after Spa.

What a relief the next GP weekend comes right away. Makes you forget the travesty at Spa.

For a long time, I've dreamed F1 to return either in Brands Hatch or Zandvoort. Now that Zandvoort has become a reality, maybe my other dream will come true as well? The best thing is that they didn't have to butcher the track, as we always fear when someone suggest F1 should race at certain Grade 2/3 circuit. Maybe FIA could allow Brands Hatch to happen with similar changes as Zandvoort? Who knows.

Just like Suzuka, Zandvoort is a real "driver's track". While it may not provide much overtaking, the challenge is real and it's great to see wide F1 cars take those sweeping, undulating corners. Can't wait for the first full onboard laps. And just like Suzuka, any room for error is minimal. I wouldn't be surprised if much of the practice time will be eaten by red flags. So even if it stays fully dry (not certain atm), I expect pretty busy and eventful weekend.

Kinda sad they decided to bank the final corner. Seems like it would have been a lot more exciting to leave it flat.

Having a hard time seeing this being a track good for racing but it's gonna be fun to watch F1 cars ripping around this place nonetheless.

No. Leave Brands Hatch alone. It was bad enough that we nearly lost Donington.

I'm very curious to see what line they're going to be running in T3. The general consensus in other series, from club-racing to the GT's and single seaters, has been that the highest possible line is the fastest. It's unconventional and will be cool to see, and who knows it might open up a passing opportunity (even though I don't really think so with these cars)

Yeah that's my feeling as well, but I'll leave my verdict for Sunday.

Really excited to see F1 cars around here. Hopefully the s/f straight will be long enough to give us some passing into the first corner.

I honestly have no idea how the race will go but I am excited to finally have a Dutch GP again and even one where a Dutch driver can actually win.
Also excited that I have my kids this weekend so we can watch together (although they probably go play after the start)

I don't think it will be. F1 cars are way too heavy and need a longer straight than this. Sadly I think this will be a Catalunya 2.0 boredom.

Do you have anything positive to say about this sport and its drivers? Not trolling, serious question.

As long as they get to the green flag next weekend, I'll take it

There might be some interest as a brand new track with nothing in their data banks when it comes to tyre wear/engine life or anything like that usually throws up SOMETHING

And yeah, there might be the RIGHT amount of rain for once eh

I said this about Zandvoort last year before the original comeback GP was cancelled. This track IS Catalunya 2.0. It won't produce any exciting racing even with DRS IMO.

Have you actually seen any races at the Zandvoort circuit lately? Or are you another of the recency bias fan who doesn't remember anything beyond the last 3-4 years. Hell, I read people wanting Magny Cours on F1 calendar back too.

You're cute.

I'm not suggesting this will the be the best race in years, I'm just saying it's a new track, and maybe, just maybe, we should all be a little exited about it.

And no, I am not a 'recency bias' fan, but all you do is bitch and moan about every series and driver, from Colton Herta being a spoiled brat to your hate towards Russel. Everything typed from your keyboard is negativity. Why not watch another sport?

Zandvoort is gonna suck, but it's still 1000 times better than any of the other new/proposed tracks for F1 or any of the newer FIA mandated Tilkedromes (Tilke gets a bad wrap tho imo, he has designed a few good tracks, just shit gets bland when FIA/FIM boxes him in.)

Neah, I'm done with the "new" stuff excitement by default. Been watching F1 for over 30 years so I'm not gonna bite on "maybes" anymore. I've actually watched DTM and F3 on the new Zandvoort and it won't be pretty in F1.

I don't moan about everything, BTCC BOP rules and George Russell happen to be on my negative podium though  It stands out so much because most TBK users seem mesmerized by them instead. People have different opinions and mine on Russell and BOP is simply in minority but that doesn't mean I'll join the majority ;)

It'll be cool watching them deal with a banked corner at least

Who knows if Pirelli can handle it though :whistling:

Tire failures will be the order of the day and the race canceled on safety grounds...
