Man, was out at Hednesford Hills raceway today watching Hot Rod racing and thought I'd catch up with the race

FORTUNATELY I somehow got accidentally spoiled that the race didn't happen by one of the racing drivers there saying "Well, at least we got a race today, unlike F1!"
Never been so glad to have a result ruined

Trying to work out how mad I'd be if I'd sat through that. Feels like FIA trying to protect their revenue streams from fans at the track and TV broadcasters vs anything to do with safety or the weather conditions

That was NOT a race.
Sorry, but Max will always have 1 less win and Lewis and George 1 less podium in their statistics in my book
Totally wrong to count that as a result, hand out points and not give fans at the track their money back after such a lack of action

Fans got what, 1 F3 race and 2 laps of SC for their money? If they don't get their money back I'd happily donate to a crowd source fund to let them sue the FIA tbh

Feels like the weather is never right in F1. We clamour for a wet race and go years without one, then suddenly all that water we missed out on falls all at once on one race, making it null and void.

Oh well, no doubt I've missed out on the creations of about 20 new Memes, but since I've missed zero racing, I'm ok with that ;)

(P.S. It's a national holiday tomorrow in the UK, they could easily have found enough marshals to high tail it to spa and marshal the race for them if they needed them tomorrow. But as ever, F1 cares more about protecting its own interests than working hard on ways of actually doing the right thing for their fans. It's really obvious now they've forgotten they're not in a "referee between the teams and drivers to make sure they all get rich together" business and are actually in the entertainment business and if people don't watch them, all their revenue streams dry up. I hope they realise this quickly before it's too late...)

I was thinking of tagging you a bit after page 35 or so with something like "wow a clear pass at eau rouge with all that water!!!" to make you believe it was something epic

About the money back: how much of the ticket goes to FIA/F1, and how much to the track/organisers? Because the latter has no responsibility in all of this, and Spa is the last venue you want to fuck financially.

Theoretically, all of the ticket money goes to the organisers, with the exception of the Paddock Club. The organisers pay a flat fee to Liberty to host the race.

What really sucks about today is that F1 won't admit that nowadays it isn't that far away from racing at an oval track in regards of how to cope with rain. Then we have that pathetic acting we had today.

Just read that the F1 race at Spa been called after 2 laps, due to raining (fucking wut?). Where's Luasjeha when you need him for this one?

I gotta wonder why F1 didn't postpone the race to Monday instead of calling it off.

Why didn't they bring the race forward 2 hours to avoid the worst of the weather. The F3 race time could have been changed too.

Aussie's don't count.

Kidding of course. I would've GLADLY got up at 5am to actually watch a race.

is kinda of a dumb thing also because despite having less people in Australia than America, I'm sure there are more australians willing to watch F1 live on tv

My mind is just blown by the amount of energy in this thread spent complaining about the utterly inevitable. I tuned in for the start, saw that the rain wasn't expected to ease for 2 days, considered what I knew about F1 and turned it off. But to each their own.
