No, because Perez did not miss the start.

The only F1 race to have more participants than starters is the 1977 German GP.

I don't blame the teams for being confused then. Extra formation laps that reduce the race distance but aren't part of the race... right.

They (FIA, Pirelli) seriously need to fix racing in the wet/ice now. Or forget to race in Europe.

Weather like that is happening more and more often nowday (we saw snow in Europe in May if i remember correctly, and it can happen during a race weekend too). So what's going to happen ? Cancel the whole race weekend ?

Good point, but when do they actually get to properly test the wet weather tires? With winter testing being in a warm climate, I'm not sure how many opportunities they actually get other than those ad-hoc 18" tire tests this year.

Well race weekend like that is and can be a real test.

Maybe trying new thing during the race weekend could be helpful. Back in the day (Monaco 96) they had a second short warmup before the race to test wet setup IIRC. They could have done it today at 13h or 14h (5 cars on track max - 15 min each) knowing the race wouldn't start at 15:00. FIA/Pirelli just have to bring more new thing during a race weekend (2-3 test cars too) so everyone can test them in case the race can't go on.

And wet tyres are way too wide in my opinion and it's caused massive spray behind the cars. With narrow tyres, they won't be that much spray behind them (so more visibility for the other cars). Today they could have tested it if they were more organised, but nothing happened...

You hear it first here. One day it will snow on race day and FIA will be fucked. They have to think about it now. And with every teams at the event, it can be a real good test for the future if they bring the right material.

There was a German driver in the 1970s who got a DNS, DNF and DSQ in the same race. He lured the officials and got his car on track during the race after having been prohibited from taking the start. Edit: cf. @

it happened once, but the track was just damp and the only concern was cold tires

No they didn't. They didn't even notice until after the engine had packed up.

It happened during a test day at Silverstone too.

Red Bull already tested snow weather too. FIA should think about it NOW...

Big debate now on whether anyone gets points as the official result goes back to one lap not the required two...

The only right thing to do was to cancel the race and not declare a winner. No race, no points, no trophies. I hate the race director for saying enthousiasticly ofcourse we´ll have a podium ceremony!

Agreed on Lewis. I'm a big critic of him, but he had the right of it as far as the situation was concerned.

"I hope the fans get their money back." Damn straight Lewis.

Yet it was Hamilton who said "F1 shouldn't be a billionaire boys club" earlier this season. And now he says "money talks". after all.

Yep, his hypocrisy is showing

F1 is more concerned by the Instagram & social media fans, not actual people who spend five hours drenched in the rain and actually buy tickets.

Also Russell saying "it doesn't matter how maiden F1 podium came". Thanks for reminding me why I'll never be a fan of his. Ham it up, Georgie boy! :metal:

Fucking hell... Do you actually read any thing or just see a drivers name and immediately hate what you imagined they said?

Is it even possible to take back already given points? And does the top-3 have to return their trophies and pee the champagne they drank in a cup?

Sorry, this goose is cooked. Nothing that Russell does will ever make me change my mind. It's like asking a Newcastle fan to say nice things about Sunderland ;)

Monteiro got some stick for celebrating his podium, but at least he actually had to race someone for it.

Imagine if Max wins the title by less than 5 points.
