Hungaroring Last year's race Not even a pre race crash on damp conditions stopped Max Verstappen from finishing 2nd in a race dominated by Lewis Hamilton 2021 Season Standings after round 10 Code: DRIVERS Timetables all times are local (GMT+2) Code: Thursday 29th JULY so what will Mercedes do now to prevent Max to get full points? |

Can't remember a single thing from last year's weekend. Hopefully we get to see Max-Lewis Clash Numero 2, or a wet race. Otherwise guaranteed snoozefest ahead. |

I never liked Hungary as the last race before the summer break. We get an OK race at best, and you end up like "I have to wait a month, now?" It should be in the middle of a triple header, so we can quickly get our minds off of it, if it's a terrible race. |

the standards had dropped so much in the past years that Hungaroring is considered a better venue that it was but is a venue where Hamilton dominates so it'll be a fairly boring race |

Red Bull still have the fastest car with the best downforce so for the first time this is not going to be a Mercedes stronghold Whether that desperation again means a good first lap or another incident, this time with Max looking for revenge on Lewis and gifting Bottas or Perez a win, who knows? Here's a shock prediction though: Norris gets pole. He won't win, prob won't make the podium, but Mclaren are on an upswing atm and I'm always told Hungary is more like a Go-Kart track so, lets throw it out there with a wild shot in the dark. But yeah, a good qualy session, great first lap and pit stops. Hopefully F3 will be fun though. |

I wish there was a sprint race this weekend. I know, it would be pointless on this track, but bear with me: you get to see Max and Lewis going by turns 1-2-3-4, twice. They should make this race 70 standing race starts in a row, and agregate the second sector positions of all laps. Rince and repeat until everyone has burnt their clutch, spun out, or run out of spare parts. |

I don't know why you put turn 3/4 in there, we all know it'll be over by turn 3 when the car in front runs the car trying to go around the outside of them out wide and we all furiously open the Racing Equittete thread again and debate whether that's ok or not There's another prediction, that will happen this weekend |

I'm guessing you've already seen it but if you haven't, look up Brass Eye This is a shot of Max Verstappen driving the Hungary track BACKWARDS. It only looks like he's driving forwards, because we have reverse the footage. "The New 2022 Formula 1 car has so much Dirty air passing will be literally impossible. The FIA have said: "This is the ONE thing we DIDN'T want to happen!" (Also look up the preceeding radio version On the Hour. I'm pretty Happy that the first thing Alan Partridge ever said was a report about Nigel Mansell retiring from F1 because "He could get the same sensation from sitting in a wind tunnel and tying a bag of agitated wasps over his head". Alan Also interviews France's "2nd best racing driver" in his radio chat show too. And went to Silverstone and shook Jackie Stewart's hand one Valentine's day. Plus there's a picture of Martin Brundle in his caravan on his TV series too... Yeahhhh, you may have tapped into my OTHER obsession That's your Day Today/Alan Partridge and F1 related facts of the day, another one of those, same time tomorrow) |

Also if we're talking the funniest shit your country ever produced, when I saw Shaun Micallef's P(o)gram(me) I swore down he must've been influenced by The Day Today/Alan Partridge He has the same kinda "taking ridiculous shit totally seriously" tone plus some great spoof interviews too, I still have that on VHS somewhere, should dig it out just for that, no-one here is gonna know about it or show it again lol |

Masi is the race director, not a steward that issues penalties. What are past races where he didn't fulfill the job's main description, which is to get the track and race underway in good and safe conditions? Ah yeah right that one time in Bahrain where one team didn't listen to the same briefing as the others for track limit rules. If anything he stands up more than Charlie, he literally just told the biggest team managers to fuck off and let him do his job. Definitely not the guy for the job |

Turkey and Imola last year are two that spring to mind where there were still marshals on the track. In Imola Lance Stroll went at speed past a marshal on the track and wasn't even investigated for it. Throw in the stupid amount of time lapsed at Baku this year before throwing a Safety Car for Max's crash. These are just the ones that I can remember off the top of my head, where as race director he WAS responsible for. |
