I'd tell them to fuck off with their strategy too.

Thank you Red Bull for making the French GP an amazing race.

Ferrari is nowhere, Russell is 12th on pure pace because no retirements.

That was a much better race than Paul Ricard had any right to give us. Both teams and Lewis & Max did a great job, but Mercedes lost in a straight fight today.

A good race at Paul Ricard :8:

Great day for McLaren, especially with both Ferraris out of the points

Ferrari 0 pts.

Their two-stop strategy was a total disaster.

No retirements. Not surprising.

I don't think the Max of even one year ago would have recovered from that mistake in this way. For the first time in years Lewis is going to be pushed all the way for the title.

Lewis also says they had to do 2 stops. Mercedes strategy crumbling?

I think there was a snappy radio message a few laps back, but I missed it and only got the German commentators' reaction.

Well it did look like Merc were getting ready. It certainly would have made sense to pit him.

Bottas was pissed off for the team for not listening to him when he wanted to pit.

So team fucked up this one.

Lewis is quite magnanimous in defeat this time. I think he knows they did their best and it just wasn't quite enough for once.

This is the best way for it to happen. He's squeezing every bit of talent he has to beat the current F1 Big Boss fair and square, often on the track. This is reminiscent of Alonso vs Schumacher in 2005-2006.

I still think it's crazy that 2 drivers that drive for a team that have dominated the last 7 years immediately start throwing their crews under the bus when things don't go perfectly.

This victory started when Perez managed to stay that longer and got Mercedes puzzled. Once again Perez did the job Gasly and Albon failed to do.

That's how it works really

Micheal's and Lewis' first couple of titles were close run things only won at the last moment before the dominance began

Just interesting to watch a sea change of competittiveness happen in front of our eyes
